ramplead Posted January 28, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2017 Hi! We are arriving on Princess at 0730 and depart at 1600. Is this enough time to take a tour of Tracy Arm Fjord? If so can anyone recommend a charter tour group? Thanks.

The ship went on its way to Juneau and we went to Sawyer Glacier. We were dropped of at the ship in Juneau.

Did they just use the regular tender "dock" on the ship to board you onto the smaller boat? We've been the Glacier Bay route a couple of times so the next cruise we take to Alaska will almost certainly be the Tracy Arm route. Any further info you might provide (for the sake of the OP of course ) would be great.
TravelingEA Posted January 29, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 29, 2017 We were picked up in Tracy Arm - we got off on the tender exit. We have met in the theater before. I think there were 2 small boats that picked up passengers. It was in May and we overheard the driver of the boat say they really should not have been there. There were quite a few icebergs on the way that he was running over. It was the first trip of the season. I had heard that some of the small boat excursions after us, were cancelled. It was a great excursion. We saw a couple of bear on the shore line as well as seals? on the chunks of ice floating. We were dropped of at the ship, the same way - into the tender entrance on the ship in Juneau. We saw quite a few whales on the way back to Juneau after we got out in the open. Colo Cruiser Posted January 29, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 29, 2017 (edited) That's great if the ship goes to Tracy Arm and takes the ships excursion there. Posters are assuming that the OP is going to Tracy Arm. Sounds like the OP may not be doing that and wants to go from Juneau? Edited January 29, 2017 by Colo Cruiser

Their ship gets back around 6 pm.
