springs741 Posted February 2, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 2, 2017 just did my online check in and I selected a time for staggered boarding It is staggered check in not boarding (1-130) even though I have FTTF. will I still be able to check in/board early? Since you have FTTF you may arrive at anytime to check in. Boarding remains as always: Weddings, Diamonds, Platinum, FTTF, and then general boarding
skrufy Posted February 2, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 2, 2017 You have to select a check in time to complete your boarding docs. Show up at any time you like.
firemanbobswife Posted February 2, 2017 #5 Share Posted February 2, 2017 You completed early CHECK IN. Since you have FTTF, you can arrive as early as the first time slot which is usually 10:30 or 11AM. It depends on the ship. BOARDING will commence as usual. So if you get there at 11:00AM, you'll be waiting inside to board until the ship is ready as usual.
MissKIA Posted February 2, 2017 #6 Share Posted February 2, 2017 As others have said, yes, you can. I wish people who have FTTF, Weddings, Diamond or Platinum WOULD choose the later times. Why take an early time away from someone who would actually like to use it? Choose the latest time possible since you can board whenever you want anyway. I'm trying to snag FTTF for our upcoming cruise. If I do, I will move our check-in time from 10:30 to the latest group available to someone else can check in earlier. Why take an early time away from someone who would actually like to use it? Choose the latest time possible since you can board whenever you want anyway. I can totally see that point (and I used to think the same thing), but the whole idea behind staggered check in is to keep everyone from showing up at once causing delays like before. So if all the Priority people chose later times, and they along with the scheduled people showed up first thing, it defeats the purpose. That's why they ask people to select which time they anticipate to arrive. It makes sense if you think about it. As having experienced staggered check in myself, I can attest that it is much better with no lines. Please select the time in which you you wish to check in so that it works as designed. pearose Posted February 2, 2017 #15 Share Posted February 2, 2017 We are on The Breeze in Dec 2017 and all ready picked our boarding time I just don't understand that then. Why can't we for October? Have you completed your online check in process? We still have one person who I just can't seem to get on there to complete the check in. Would that be holding it up do you think? The rest of the online check in doesn't need to be done even. Does your port do staggered check in?

cloudninecat Posted February 2, 2017 #18 Share Posted February 2, 2017 I can't choose one for our July cruise yet either. Two of the rooms have FTTF but we still haven't been able to snag it for the 3rd room so we're hoping to at least get an early check in so we can all go inside together. Hoping it will show up soon. I keep checking.

firemanbobswife Posted February 2, 2017 #21 Share Posted February 2, 2017 How far before a cruise does the FTTF open up?? Karen It varies. If you see other Shore Excursions available, then it should be listed. However, it sells out fast.
LPYRCRUISER Posted February 2, 2017 #22 Share Posted February 2, 2017 How far out from sail date do you get to pick your check in time? We are sailing out of Charleston on February 28. our check in times were not available until about 50 days out. I was starting to think I was crazy. people were saying -- 'oh it's right there on the left' .'we've already chosen our times' etc. I kept checking and sure enough it popped up. Our group all chose the earliest time.

maryred Posted February 3, 2017 #25 Share Posted February 3, 2017 Does disabled persons board before or after FTTF/diamond/platinum? Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Forums Actually this is port and ship dependent. In Baltimore for 2016 those w/ disabilities requiring Carnival equipment or staff to assist were their own little section regardless of priority level. As a crew member or the equipment became available the disabled person and 1 adult care taker would be boarded (along with any minors associated to the same booking). So that meant starting at the same time as Diamond boarding a general boarding person (that had an early check-in time) in the assistance require area could board earlier than someone that purchased FttF that arrived 10-15 minutes later. Those not requiring Carnival crew or equipment to help (had there own wheelchair, scooter, etc.) and family assisting them would board within their grouping, priority w/ priority, general boarding when their zone is called. Also in 2016 for NYC it was completely different. Those requesting or visibly showing a disability where boarded ahead of the particular boarding group the belonged to. Simply put if disabled and Diamond they were the first to board after the Wedding Party and the B2Bers, if they arrived prior to boarding. While those with disabilities and general boarding waited until between priority and the zones to be called, if they had an early check-in. In NYC every so often they would halt general boarding to escort any priority disabled to board, then once they were mostly up the ramp have the next wave of general boarding disabled passengers head up the ramp before resuming calling zone #s.
