Anyone knows what is up with the Golden Balcony room? Booked a back to back with my family, 2 golden balcony, 13164 and 13172 and one on Oceanview on the other sailing. Not sure what exact privileges I receive, RCL did not mention anything about the Golden Suite Program on their website.

This will likely not be known for sure until the first few sailings.

Spectrum will be a bit harder to de-Asianise whenever they move her to some other market.

I agree. wonder if the solarium is the same size as Anthem. I know the solarium on Spectrum like Quantum only allows the expensive rooms to use this area - which to me is a darn shame and rip off.

Same here - we are booked in an Owners suite on the Barca to Dubai cruise - nobody at RCL can say exactly what it will include - they did mention a complimentary bottle of Evian in room and a fruit basket lol

This is what my TA was able to find out from RCL:

"I've spoken 2 agents and 1 supervisor in thelast 24 hours and no one seems to know much about the Spectrum of the Seas. Shewas built specifically for the Chinese market.. Gold categories are Grand Suiteand above(Grand Suite, Golden balcony,Owners Suite , Grand Loft and UltimateFamily Suite). If you book one of the Quantum Club Suitesyou are Gold. The Gold includes 24 hour info hotline, priority specialtyrestaurant and spa reservations,24 hour coffee club, concierge, complimentaryevening cocktail service. In your suite a welcome fruit basket, welcome bottleof Evian water, luxury bathroom amenities, souvenir, clothes pressing onceper person"

I asked her what they meant by "Quantum Club" suites but she didn't know - perhaps that's what they might call the exclusive suite area?

Hopefully they are still working on the exact perks as currently it doesn't sound much more than Sea class on the rest of the fleet

Like the construction, that might be a work in progress right up until she sails.

Not really. The ship has two sets of enclosed pools. The Suite area gets one, which is not the solarium, but the suite pool. This pool is for all ages provided they are booked into the special area. The other pool, also has a enclosed roof, for the cold weather, and is for all guests also. I should note that the Spectrum is a ship that sails most of the year in the cold weather. Swimming pools are seldom used. No worries from chair hogs or screaming kids.

In the suite area, which is the Gold Area, they actually have standard balconies. The exact same size as the rest of the ship. The difference is, this exact same room, in the Gold Section cost about 3 times more money. So basically, you want a private pool, you will pay triple the price.

Many people picture this cruise experience to be the same as in the Caribbean, but it's not. It's different. You almost are basically getting a new cruise line, within the family. Restaurants are different. Food is different. Specialty restaurants are different. Entertainment is different. Casino is different. I could go on. The removal of the solarium, is minor in the big picture.

A nice photo from the bow of the AIDAnova of some big Spectrum of the Seas pieces in the dry basin and some blocks to the left.

Those blocks contain the Suite neighborhood.

I believe the as per the deck plans, the suites are getting the Solarium, the most Fwd pool, where the cascading pools are. Access controlled, you do have to tap your SeaPass to enter. Other guests get the indoor pool, behind the Fwd lift lobby. This is the one with the retractable roofs.

The Suite Enclave is called the Royal Villa at Sea, as per RCL China website. The Golden Balcony is indeed what you just mentioned, a standard balcony room with Golden Privileges. But I still went ahead booking it for the two Singapore sailings back to back, hopefully it will be good!

Hi Venn - is there any other info on the Chinese website re the perks of booking a Golden/Royal Villa at Sea room?

Thanks!

The dedicated suite area where the solarium is a great idea.

On the ovation we have worked out it's the best place to book a cabin right under the solarium bistro ,which is part of the specialty restaurants.

It's not so busy and you have a bar, restaurant and pool one flight of stairs up.

Thanks so much for that - it was so difficult trying to get Royal Caribbean to confirm anything over here!

Naw I disagree. The solarium is wonderful and in the front of the ship. Should be made available for everyone since the cascading pools with benches are easy for older folks to get in and out of. I think too much class separation is going on and what next. Can't use bathrooms near specialty restaurants. Ya have o go back to you room unless you are in a suite. Don't laugh it could happen.

What they are doing with Quantum ships in Asia is just plain wrong. RCI is nickle and diming any USA person who likes the Anthem and then wants to go on another Quantum in Asia. Can you imagine if USA folks had to pay for napkins and ketchup at one of the fast food places just because it is in Asia. Just plan hogish on the part of RCI.

I had been planning to sail of the Spectrum but not having access to the cascading pools and surrounding area was the deciding factor in not booking it. It is my favourite area on the Ovation and I love sitting in the cascading pools or nearby and reading.

Posting Spectrum of the Seas block construction schedule - Part Zwei

1f61c.png

I previously posted what turns out to be an older chart that Meyer Werft has yet to replace! Apparently they will do so soon.

When in doubt, go to the source. They sent an updated schedule chart.
