moon girl Posted February 13, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 13, 2017 We will have most of a day after getting off our cruise at Port Canaveral before our flight leaves MCO at 6:59 p.m. We would like to get off the ship as early as possible and do something until we need to be to the airport around 4:00 p.m. Does anyone have any suggestions of sights to see, things to do etc. somewhere between Port Canaveral and Orlando? We will have a rental car so we will have the freedom to go and do whatever sounds fun! Any help is so appreciated!
jacksmycat Posted February 13, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 13, 2017 You could go to Cocoa Beach or Disney Springs. Cocoa Beach also has some shops. Disney Springs is the new name for Downtown Disney and there's a lot of shopping and restaurants there. It's also free to park and just walk around. SteerageJoe Posted February 13, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 13, 2017 If you love anything Disney then Disney Springs is my suggestion. Some say it is a shopping trip but that's just a part of the experience! Disney Springs is a hub (with shopping, activities, etc) from where you can explore the greater Disney area. You can visit many Disney Hotels and areas by boat or bus and it's all FREE! For info about how to get there, where to park, how the boats and buses work read this page about Disney Springs. If not Disney Springs then you can also do adventurous stuff such as airboat rides near Canaveral, Gatorland, a rushed Kennedy Space Center, etc.

KnightsFan Posted February 13, 2017 #5 Share Posted February 13, 2017 Kennedy Space Center is neat if you have anyone with you that is into space exploration. Lots of cool exhibits and actual space craft, including Atlantis. Alternatively you could get in more relaxation time at one of the many beaches. Or if you're beached out go to one of the natural springs throughout Central Florida, Blue Springs is a favorite of mine. If you have a rental car and are willing to drive there's a lot to do in the area.
