smj777 Posted February 15, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 15, 2017 CC awards for 2017 are announced. P&O hardly get a mention in any category. Now I know that these things are subjective and there are no anti-awards for the worst, but PandO should surely be trying to up their game in the categories that can be improved - food quality etc. We'll still do P&O because there is so much to like, convenience, kettles, own drinks allowed and so on, but are they falling behind in comparison with other lines? Brayman Posted February 15, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 15, 2017 I take these awards with a pinch of salt. To be able to compare lines you need to cruise on them all, how many people can say they have done that?
davecttr Posted February 15, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 15, 2017 TUI will be pleased, not that it matters why don't the smilies work ?
Rare Deeliteful Posted February 15, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 15, 2017 P&O have a much smaller fleet and then for fewer passengers than say Celebrity or RCL. They do get a mention in a couple of categories though. Looking forward to seeing for myself in May as I have recently changed my Fjords cruise from RCL to P&O and saved myself £1400 in the process. jh1809 Posted February 15, 2017 #5 Share Posted February 15, 2017 Aren't the majority of users of this site from the US? Many of them have probably barely heard of P&O, which doesn't seem to market itself in America very much, unlike Cunard. So I'm not surprised that P&O doesn't much feature. jojo67 Posted February 15, 2017 #7 Share Posted February 15, 2017 Do you mean like this :) :). :) Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app Probably referring to the fact that Thomson Spirit won in three categories.
HikingPete Posted February 17, 2017 #8 Share Posted February 17, 2017 Maybe P&O cruisers who enjoy their cruises should make a point of leaving good reviews?

I thought the same when I saw the awards however for TUI to get an award with their tiny fleet must mean the awards are based on British cruiser opinion doesn't it? I don't know the answer but I would love to know the basis for the awards. Have they only gathered the opinion of Brits? I wish they would be open about it. davecttr Posted February 19, 2017 #10 Share Posted February 19, 2017 Not so tiny, TUI have 6 ships dedicated to the British market this summer. TUI Discovery TUI Discovery 2 Thomson Dream Thomson Celebration Thomson Spirit Thomson Majesty The last two are leaving the fleet at the end of this summer season with a yet to be named replacement arriving next summer? (currently Mein Schiff 1). The Thomson ships are gradually being rebranded to TUI. Why do TUI win so many awards? For entertainment I think that on balance the TUI show teams are more talented than the P&O ones.
davecttr Posted February 19, 2017 #11 Share Posted February 19, 2017 An opinion influenced by cruising 19 times on P&O and 16 times on Thomson !.
