jennybenny Posted February 22, 2017 #26 Share Posted February 22, 2017 The chef's table that we did there were 3 meats for the main and none of them was veal...pork, beef and lamb. How could that be possible? I've read numerous reviews of the Chef's Table and they all had different food and the one we did had different food from all the reviews I've read. Unless by the same you mean...we went to the galley and had appetizers, the we went to the MDR and had dinner. That's the same for everyone. Well, it was the same twice and the third time barely different. All had the exact same appetizers, risotto with lobster for the middle course, same sorbet intermezzo and veal and lamb for the main entree twice. The third time, i'd need to look at the menu to see what was different, but most was the same. Same executive chef all three times and once with Master Chef Alfredo Marzi (Alfredo's Is named after him) in conjunction with and the same executive chef. All were fabulous and the Executive Chef now recognizes us and and talks to us if he sees us. Lovely experience and yes, very similar Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Colo Cruiser Posted February 22, 2017 #27 Share Posted February 22, 2017 Chef's table, they only have it available for a handful of people so we try to get on the list and if we are lucky we get it. The tour of the galley is great, and in the end, I'm so full I can't really eat the main course. However, have found that it's the same every time. There are 3 different menus for the Chef's Table. Apparently you were unlucky enough to hit the same menu each time.
DKobler Posted February 22, 2017 Author #28 Share Posted February 22, 2017 Well, I guess I got my answer to which dining experience. We will just have to suffer and try the Crown Grill, Sabatinis and maybe the Crab Shack. Thanks everyone for your input. Some one posted if you give four different options you will most likely get 4 or more different opinions. How true that is.
Memargi Posted February 22, 2017 #29 Share Posted February 22, 2017 We loved the crab Shack when we did it but it was in the testing stage. Not hard for us to decide though love seafood
swapilot Posted February 22, 2017 #30 Share Posted February 22, 2017 Oh please try the Chef's Table. It is an amazing experience. You get to go into the galley and have appetizers with the head chef and head maître d. There are 3 -4 appetizers(that were wonderful) and lots of champagne. Then you are escorted to one of the dining rooms for the rest of the courses. We had a risotto with seafood and the main dish was double surf and turf(lobster, shrimp, filet, and lamb. The dessert was incredible, hand made chocolates with a spun sugar statue, cheese plate and a chocolate something that was to die for. You also get the Princess cookbook and complimentary pictures taken with the chef and the rest of your party. You also get wines that are chosen for each course, but you do not have to have the wines. There is a discounted price for the dinner without the wine. The Chef's Table dinner is still one of the best meals I have ever had. I would highly recommend anyone and everyone have this experience. Crab Shack was really good also. I thought it was worth the money. The different kinds of crabs and other seafood to choose from was really fresh and tasty. Both Sabatini's and Crown Grill are great dining experiences. The steaks, sea food and pastas are wonderful. The service is great, too. If I only got to pick one dining experience out of the four, I would pick Chef's Table. It was the ultimate experience. Be sure to sign up as soon as you get on the ship. I agree with the Chef's Table. We always do it and are never disappointed. Well worth the money! Amazing meal and experience!! kadrik0 Posted February 27, 2017 #32 Share Posted February 27, 2017 How much does the Chef's Table run? We've done the Crown Grill which is amazing but I know on our last cruise our table mates did the chef's table one night and sounded really nice. Would you say the Chef's Table is friendly for a father and son? My Mom passed away from breast cancer so I still live at home saving for a house and instead of rent I'm the one paying for a cruise every year for my Dad and teenage sister. It's probably fine but wasn't sure if it was only geared two romantic couples. As far as the wine goes is it all included or just the first glass. (I'm not a wine drinker but my Dad sure is.) hilcadon Posted February 27, 2017 #33 Share Posted February 27, 2017 You have to try Chefs table at least once. It was one of the best experiences we have ever had. Loved the tour with champagne and fabulous appetizers. The meal and wines were fantastic and the whole atmosphere was truly wonderful. You have to sign up as soon as you get on board because the event sells out quickly. Sabatinis was special for the suite breakfast and dinner. Can't comment on Crab shack because my DW can't eat crab. Enjoy

I think the Chef's Table was $99.00 per person and $79.00 per person with out the wines. I would say it is very friendly for a father and son. My mom and I signed up and had a great time. It is not just for romantic couples, it is for people that want to have a great dining experience.
kadrik0 Posted February 27, 2017 #35 Share Posted February 27, 2017 Sweet. Just watched some youtube videos of a chef's table experience on Princess. I think I'm going to try it. Fingers crossed. We are cruising during spring break so it could sell out quick.
