Tweety63 Posted February 20, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2017 Just wanted to post my thoughts on our three night on the Majesty this past weekend. To be honest, we needed two Crown and Anchor points, I'm a teacher and had a four day weekend and Port Canaveral is a two hour drive away. That being said, we had a wonderful cruise. She is well kept and loved by the crew, who were some of the most personable fleet wide, imo. I admit to being leery of the smaller ship as I truly prefer Oasis class but Majesty was "cute", which was the word that kept coming up and I mean that in the kindest of ways. So not to get lengthy here, if you are considering the Majesty and need a little positive affirmation, I will be happy to answer any questions. Bottom line, we had a great cruise on the Majesty and would recommend:)
luvsunnydaiz Posted February 20, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 20, 2017 Hi, we are thinking of trying the Majesty in May. We have been on both the Allure and the Oasis and we love the bigger ships. We did the Empress a try in October and had a great time but the lack of pool space was a bit bothersome. What are the pools like on the Majesty? Tweety63 Posted February 20, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted February 20, 2017 Two small pools and only went up there when everyone was ashore in Nassau. Plenty of space then but can't answer as to when numbers were onboard.
FTD Posted February 21, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 21, 2017 We went on a 4 nighter on Majesty December 5 and are going again March 20. Smaller ship so less bells and whistles but still very enjoyable. We miss the Enchantment but the Majesty is also good. Marc Walker, John Denton and company run a fun ship. I can't say that it was my absolute favorite ship - but it was certainly not my least favorite. It was clean, well maintained - and like you said - some of the most personable crews we've ever experienced. My sister and I will probably both write a more in depth review shortly, but I wanted to agree with your sentiments! :-) Glad you had a wonderful cruise! SP4 Posted February 21, 2017 #8 Share Posted February 21, 2017 Did you get off the ship at night in Nassau? If so, did you feel safe? How was the food? Thanks in advance!
casinostreer Posted February 21, 2017 #9 Share Posted February 21, 2017 Did you get off the ship at night in Nassau? If so, did you feel safe? How was the food? Thanks in advance! We did not get off the ship in Nassau this trip. (I have already been in Nassau on my last Enchantment cruise.) I felt totally safe during the day. Why would you not feel safe? Nassau is very tourist friendly. Just be cautious as you would in any port. Don't take a lot of cash. Keep your money ON you - not in a purse or something easily stolen. (I would say the same things about NYC. :) ) The food was quite good, though I really disliked that the Majesty didn't have a Chops or Portofino's. But the food in the MDR ranged from good to quite good even a few dishes that were delicious. Hope you enjoy the trip!
sandjforever Posted February 21, 2017 #10 Share Posted February 21, 2017 I was on Majesty right before you, the infamous held by USCG trip. I absolutely loved it, just was not happy with the lack of communication regarding the delays. JinxyB Posted February 21, 2017 #11 Share Posted February 21, 2017 I was on the same weekend cruise. For the price, the cruise was OK. Coco Cay was amazing and was the highlight for me. My child lived at the rock wall and enjoyed the few hours he spent each day at Adventure Ocean. I won't choose Majesty again as I prefer more modern ships. I knew going into it that the ship was very old, however my stateroom shape was unacceptable. I dropped something on the floor and came face to face with a filthy, rusted vent filled with dust and dirt. The carpet had embedded crumbs and dirt and a bobby pin (not mine) right in plain sight, so I don't think much cleaning happened between sailings. The bathroom was rusted and jagged rusted edges were on the counter near the shower. The shower flooded one night and I almosted vomited having to walk through water with dirt and rust and god knows what else! For whoever says Royal has a higher caliber of clientele than say, Carnival, I beg to differ. This definitely was a 3-day party cruise on par with the 3-day cruises I have done on Carnival. For the price paid, it was a good time. Service was overall good and I did not encounter any surly employees. Food was OK, but the quality of meats was poor. I tried a hamburger and it was a throwback to my high school cafeteria days- I guess it's their way of pushing you to Johnny Rockets. I would not want to spend more than 3 nights on this ship. Sorry to hijack your post. I plan on writing a review.

Tweety63 Posted February 22, 2017 Author #13 Share Posted February 22, 2017 For the record, our cabin (deck 3 with a porthole;)) was clean as was our bathroom and our cabin attendant was courteous and attentive. I found the Majesty beautiful and well maintained for a 25 year old ship. We did get off the ship in Nassau even though we also have been there numerous times. Felt completely safe and wandered the port area for a few hours. Found a craft beer bar and a literal hole in the wall down the block with the BEST couch fritters! Just use common sense and stay in well traveled areas and you will be fine. Lastly, the casino. We actually won enough to pay for our cruise the first night:D Now, be warned, night's two and three, winnings were barely double digits if not just walking away before we gave them any money back. Just like the rest of the ship, the Casino crew was friendly and helpful but they do call it gambling for a reason HA. Happy cruising
Cruises4Evee Posted February 22, 2017 #14 Share Posted February 22, 2017 We are booked on the Majesty for the end of June. Am so concerned with some of the negative reviews of the ship. There are complaints of water logged hallways and sewage smells. Broken windows. I am so torn as to whether go on this trip or just cancel completely. This is a dream vacation 20 years in the making and the first cruise for my daughter. My husband and I had cruised the Monarch for our honeymoon. I am glad you had a good time and appreciate your positive review. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

These spots sound right up our alley!
Tweety63 Posted February 23, 2017 Author #17 Share Posted February 23, 2017 Craft beer place was Pirate Republic, right on the Main Street. You can see it from the ship and everyone there was super nice. Conch fritter place is on the next corner and is literally a window opening in the wall; look for the line of locals😊 Not sure if these's even a name on the place! If you're leaving the craft beer place go to your left toward Senor Frogs; it's on the next corner. Have a fun time! We did😜

EllaDuChien Posted February 23, 2017 #22 Share Posted February 23, 2017 Hoping you will include the casino in your review. Hi Zoey - I am the "sister" mentioned above and yes, I will include the casino as we spent most of our time there. In brief, I thought it was very large and modern for an older, smaller ship. I personally saw at least two people hit larger (read: reportable!) jackpots on the slots just on our quick three day cruise. The only thing I wish they had was the slot tournament as I really enjoy that, but I guess there is not enough interest on these quick cruises. Also, I will be on your May 1st sailing as well!! See you soon!

See you soon! Thanks for the casino info. We will definitely see you there as this is a "freebie" cruise from the casino for us. I have been on the Majesty several times, but this will be the first since my SO taught me to play table games. It will be even more special since it will be my first cruise after retiring and moving closer to PC. I always wanted to try a Mon-Fri on the Majesty or Enchantment but would not take five days of vacation time for a four night cruise.
