PGCRUISERS Posted February 26, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2017 We are taking our granddaughter to the Turtle Farm March 27. How far is it from the cruise port and is it best to just grab a cab. She is ten and loves turtles. Thanks in advance Sent from my iPhone using Forums
cb at sea Posted February 27, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 27, 2017 Take the bus...cheaper than a cab. The bus service on GC is awesome! $2.50 pp.
PGCRUISERS Posted February 27, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted February 27, 2017 Thank you I will check it out. Do you know about how far it is? Sent from my iPhone using Forums
sk8rmomof3 Posted February 27, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 27, 2017 When I booked ours the other night through Carnival, it made it sound like there is a bus ready to take you. I thought it was included. If you go to excursions on the website and click on "more detail" it says the bus picks you up and drops you off (no mention of it being extra). So I'm not quite sure. it might already be planned for you.

Thrilled2012 Posted February 27, 2017 #6 Share Posted February 27, 2017 Take the bus...cheaper than a cab. The bus service on GC is awesome! $2.50 pp. Great! Do you happen to know if the public bus also goes to Hell? Is the $2.50 fare for each time you ride the bus or is there a daily rate? Thanks so much :)
pinkflamingos Posted March 17, 2017 #7 Share Posted March 17, 2017 I've been doing some research on the same thing. I was trying to figure out if we could do a stingray excursion (booked on our own, not through Carnival) and then take a bus to the turtle farm. It would be great to have a map to see the proximity of the different attractions.

griffy116 Posted March 21, 2017 #9 Share Posted March 21, 2017 We are going on Celebrity and looking at the excursions, I didn't see an excursion offered that goes to the Turtle Farm, unless it included Sting Ray City, which we aren't interested in. We don't normally book through the cruise line, but we have a lot of OBC that we don't see getting used any other way than excursions. Am I missing something?? suzbcruiser Posted March 23, 2017 #10 Share Posted March 23, 2017 We did this last June with 8 of us. Public transportation is easy to navigate in Grand Cayman. The primary bus station is about 5 blocks from where you tender. It's a very easy walk. http://www.thecaymanislands.ky/car-rental/bus-service/ Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

Celebrity has a "Turtle Encounter & Island Tour" that's includes the Turtle Farm (snorkeling with the turtles) without Stingray City. ETA: Sorry to hijack OP's thread! Tonimarieb Posted April 2, 2017 #12 Share Posted April 2, 2017 Cayman port is wonderful and so easy to get around. You can catch a cab easily. We actually did excursion but you could certainly do on your own. We went last year with our son and he absolutely loved it! Highly recommend!! cheggy Posted May 7, 2017 #13 Share Posted May 7, 2017 We did public bus (van) in January for $2.50 per person each way and it took about 20 minutes to get to the Turtle Farm. Absolutely loved it. We are going back in October.
Amy G Posted May 9, 2017 #14 Share Posted May 9, 2017 Is it easy to do the bus to the turtle farm and then 7 mile beach?
