If NCL offered completely non-smoking cruises, would you book?

I wonder if NCL ever looked into having specific cruises be 100% non-smoking? If they did:

1. Would you book one?

Yes (I don't smoke)

2. Would you be willing to pay a premium to book a cruise that was 100% smoke-free?

No, I sail now with a ship that smokes so I'm not paying extra for a smoke-free cruise.

Very much in agreement with post 498. I do have an upcoming very long cruise in a few weeks time and I will be monitoring the whole smoking subject then. If I have to, I will have no problem in moving to an alternative cruise line which has much stricter smoking rules. Please NCL listen to the majority and do something about your archaic smoking policy.

Well as someone said , " If I couldn't handle it I wouldn't cruise. "

Therefore, wear a raincoat with a hood and a surgical mask and then you could handle it .

BTW anyone else suspect that these "No I'm not a smoker" aren't ?

I wouldn't be surprised if there are.;)

Thank you for proving my point over & over again.

Immie!!!!!!! Missed ya

However the poster I quoted was using a ridiculous argument plain and simple

The debate about smoking is not ridiculous and never will be

Yes and yes! I'm allergic to smoke and this is the #1 fear I have going on our first cruise in November.

For me also. I have only mild asthma but we are both serious singers. We've looked forward to a first cruise for decades, but the prospect of inescapable smoke (and yes, heavy perfume) may make it our only. I'm trying to assume the best, but it would be wonderful to have a fully smoke-free option.

Besides, we like casinos, and that will be out of the question for us, given what I've read about them here.

, NO - why should I have to pay more - there would be no mess of cigarette butts, ashes, etc. No having to get rid of the smoke smell.

I agree! With no ashes and butts to discard, as well as not needing to clean every nook and cranny as often to get rid of the smoke, I would believe it would be CHEAPER to have a totally nonsmoking cruise ship. Also, nonsmokers would be more willing to spend money in the casino. On our last cruise, my brother, whom loves to be at the casino, didn't step foot in it once we figured out how bad the smoke was.

Celebrity doesn't allow smoking in the casino.

Look the whole world knows the perils of smoking and the effect it can have on you and everyone else in a confined area.

Every one except NCL that is!

I do not have a problem with people smoking outside, but allowing smoking inside is irresponsible and downright wrong.

(Think of the poor staff who have very little choice but to suck in someone's second hand smoke! at the casino)

Come on NCL for once put health before greed.

No. I do not smoke, but my traveling companion does. There really aren't a lot of smoking areas; I don't notice or smell anything unless I am in a smoking area with my companion.

I don't know if someone already mentioned this (sorry, I could not read all 27 pages!) but years ago, the Carnival Pride was a non-smoking ship. It was pretty much a failure, and they ended the restriction. But that must have been 10+ years ago, so maybe there is now a big enough market for a non-smoking ship? I personally would not sail on it, though.

Actually it was the Paradise. And yes, a lot has changed in 10 years.

NO!!

Majority of people DO NOT smoke. Smokers should pay the premium.
