bld16 Posted November 15, 2005 #2 Share Posted November 15, 2005 My answer would be it depends on the age and how cranky they are. My 11yo thought the displays were beautiful! However remember that you may have to wait in a line to even view and if you children are impatient or tired that might not work. We actually viewed and took pics of the one buffet and didn't stay around for the food when it was served. We were all too tired and not really hungry. But those chocolate creations would have been wonderful to try.
MOMofONE Posted November 15, 2005 #3 Share Posted November 15, 2005 Alot of ships are doing away with midnight buffets so check if it's still being offered on your cruise. Deciding it was so wasteful, many instead offer at least one 24 hour eatery (like diner food). NCL, which I'm sailing again next week, moved their chocolate buffet to 3PM while we were in port! Of course most of the passengers missed it. :( As for kids - I agree it depends on age & kids. When my DD was 7 she insisted we wake her up for this - she was very patient and excited in the long line, oohed and ahhed with the rest of us, filled her plate to the brim, took two bites....... and fell back asleep in the booth! ROFL We had a fridge in the room and so brought her plate of decadent desserts back to the room and surprised her in the morning. :)
