shun Posted March 9, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2017 We will be on the Regal Sunday and had to print tags. If it rains they will get soaked. Is there any tag protectors? Thank you

JF - retired RRT Posted March 9, 2017 #3 Share Posted March 9, 2017 Yes, of course. You can buy them in the Cruise Critic store. I have some, they're nice. Amazon has a huge selection. Stores like Target, Walmart, etc. But, you're running out time. Make your own. Get some clear packing tape and "wrap" your luggage tags with it. That will work, short of a flood. That will work, short of a flood. I recently purchased some luggage tags on Ebay so we are going to be very fancy for our next cruise. However, packing tape works great! If you are coming in the day before your cruise, just ask the front desk at the hotel for a stapler to attach the taped luggage tags to your luggage. OCruisers Posted March 10, 2017 #8 Share Posted March 10, 2017 They also hold up nicely in unfortunate weather which just covered with clear packing tape. :)

Colo Cruiser Posted March 10, 2017 #10 Share Posted March 10, 2017 They also hold up nicely in unfortunate weather which just covered with clear packing tape. :) We have done this along with a plastic page sheet since day 1. They work great and so strong I can PU the bag by the tag. :D
jagsfan Posted March 10, 2017 #11 Share Posted March 10, 2017 Good idea about plastic page protectors. For next time do order the plastic holders. Mine have been on half a dozen cruises and no effort to use. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

Marjule Posted March 10, 2017 #13 Share Posted March 10, 2017 If you have an office laminator why not laminate the tags. We do this and it works great.

CRUSINBUFF Posted March 10, 2017 #15 Share Posted March 10, 2017 OP is sailing this Sunday. Too late to order from the various online sources suggested. Check AAA. fishywood Posted March 10, 2017 #16 Share Posted March 10, 2017 OP is sailing this Sunday. Too late to order from the various online sources suggested. One last minute solution would to buy a miniature stapler (I have one that is barely larger than my thumb but uses full-sized staples) and just wait to attach the tags upon arrival at the port. But I a curious as to at what location the OP is worried about the tags getting wet: Regal Princess embarks from Berth 2 at Port Everglades this Sunday at which the luggage drop area is completely under cover. As is the path from baggage claim to ground transportation at all local airports. Perhaps they will be loading luggage into their car at a hotel Sunday morning? Forecast for Sunday is roughly 50-60% chance of rain between 10 AM and 1 PM. But if it is 50- or 60-percenting when you are ready to head out--just wait ten minutes, it usually stops by then ;)

candigirl41 Posted March 10, 2017 #18 Share Posted March 10, 2017 I also covered mine with clear packing tape. I then folded them over and punched a hole so I could use a zip tie to attach to my luggage. Candi

socaljo Posted March 11, 2017 #20 Share Posted March 11, 2017 We bought the nice plastic ones with the little screw-together sturdy metal rings. They must of looked too nice, one bag arrived home without the nice tag/ring there at all! Guess we're lucky someone only wanted ONE! ;p Happy Sailing! OzKruser Posted March 11, 2017 #21 Share Posted March 11, 2017 I used to reinforce mine either with tape or laminate them. I recently bought tag holders from http://www.cruisebagtags.com. They have different sizes to suit each cruise line. Good prices too. Sent from my iPad using Forums

If it is raining when the forklift is moving the luggage baskets, the tag can get wet. If printed using an inkjet Printer, the ink can run. Lucky TGO Posted March 11, 2017 #24 Share Posted March 11, 2017 My friend always prints out extra tags and leaves one inside of his luggage. He said it's just in case the one on the out side comes off. They will look in side and know we're to take it. Tony
muggo11 Posted March 11, 2017 #25 Share Posted March 11, 2017 I always have extra printed tags as well. We also bought the fancy dancy holders from ebay. They are terrific. I don't put the tags on until just before we give them to the porters, though. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
