Just bought a 500.00 Carnival gift card on AARP, didn't see any 100.00 cards.

The $500 card was showing up as sold out but I did find the $100 cards when I refreshed my screen it only allowed me to buy 4 of them but hey just saved me $38 which about 3 daiquiris for me on my next cruise!

If there's two of you and you're on a 7 day cruise, it'll be 700, plus 15%, or 805 for the week. Also need to account for you daily regular gratuities if you have not already. That will add just over 200 for the week, so 1000 in cards will just about cover it.

I've been trying to grab a few want to cruise in June and November...I love adding grats in my total and buying the gift cards...most of the time the savings pay for gratuities! :D I'll be on the lookout...just gotta keep trying!!!

We prepaid gratuities already.

 

Think I'll get about $1K more. That will pay for Cheers plus if we want to do another ship excursion (we already paid for one). If necessary, we will do the casino trick on the last night.

If you do a search for casino trick you can find more detailed directions.

 

But basically you put your gift cards on your S&S card and then go to the casino and put your S&S card in one of the slot machines. Play 1 spin and then choose the button that says cash out. Then you can take how much money in gift cards you have on your S&S card out at the cashier. I think there maybe a limit on how much you can take out at one time but I forget. I used the casino trick in June on $5500 in gift cards over 3 days and had no problems. I actually won a few dollars on my spins.
