Outside tour companies

Does anyone know of a good company outside of the ship to see the whales in Juneau. Or the black bears from Ketchikan?

These boards are loaded with that sort of thing.

We went whale watching with Capt. Larry (Orca Enteririses) in Juneau, and recommend them.

Our friends used the ships tour for bear watching, and were disappointed (and it was very very costly), and I've seen others on these boards suggest very good and reputable independants.

As for bear watching out of Ketchikan , timing is critical. Anan is my preference, look at http://www.islandwings.com going in July/early August is preferable. Neets bay, only available via ship tour, is peak in August, so is Traitor's Cove, again look at Island Wings. Another great independent to consider is http://www.southeastaviation.com Go with their recommendations on peak areas.
