VideoTech Posted March 28, 2017 #26 Share Posted March 28, 2017 WOW! CAS has posted the new program, and allows you to earn points across all of the brands NCL, Regent, and Oceania. More tiers. Haven't compared to see if levels are gaining or losing anything yet. https://www.ncl.com/why-cruise-norwegian/casino-cruise Haven't been through this line by line, but as longtime NCL cruisers through CAS, we are glad to see some of the benefits extended to the other brand lines. asubaru Posted March 28, 2017 #27 Share Posted March 28, 2017 I think it's quite an improvement! It's nice to see some added benefits. If they give comparable OBC for the food and spa credits granted previously, I see nothing but positives for the player. It's good to finally see them list Elite and give them some more benefits. asubaru Posted March 28, 2017 #28 Share Posted March 28, 2017 Maybe your 20% discount was based on your previous cruise play? I have always been told that there was not a discount based on tier level. Your free/discounted cabin was 100% based on your play during your previous cruise. This was also my experience. They do offer discounts for CET Total Rewards tier levels. I wonder what the "stateroom discount" is. I have been Lucky and am always offered 20% off based on my play. Under this new program would this change?
Rare BirdTravels Posted March 28, 2017 #29 Share Posted March 28, 2017 Ok. Thanks. I guess we just have to wait and see whether the OBC amount is equal to, better than, or worse than the dinner and spa credits we used to get.... Probably worse. Can't see them adding OBC equivalent to the old dining+spa. We are on a sailing in a couple of weeks, so we'll ask.
psmarkle Posted March 28, 2017 #30 Share Posted March 28, 2017 We are leaving in 2 weeks on our fifth cruise booked thru CAS. They have a separate res # (don't have it on me at work). I usu put $2K in plays on the craps table per cruise, and I have consistently been offered a free inside cabin when I call for my next cruise, then I pay the upgrade diff. The costs for upgrade thru CAS are usu lower than what you find on NCL.com. I seem to get this offer regardless on winning or losing. On this upcoming cruise, what we paid for a Haven 2-bdrm is roughly $2,100 lower than the website. In addition, we've always had free drink cards waiting in our room for all the adults on my reservation even though I'm only rated at Lucky. And the daily evening treats in the room is also a very nice touch!
kabbpres Posted April 2, 2017 #31 Share Posted April 2, 2017 Hi was wondering if anyone is getting on the Dawn today and could check on the changes for CAS? Esp the amount of OBC now vs spa/food money. Thanks I will be on it next Sunday. Steve
riddle Posted April 2, 2017 #32 Share Posted April 2, 2017 I will be on the Dawn 4/9 as well and am wondering the same thing. I called CAS Friday and asked and was told they did not know yet??? Anyway, they were able to tell me what my level will be. I had been on the Epic in February and the casino manager told me I would definitely stay golden. I am being told I will be sapphire in the new program which is the same number of points. I always had trouble using the food/bev credit as I had the Dining Package and the Latitudes meals and free drinks in the casino. As for the spa credit, I generally book the spa in advance to be sure I get in. I don't much care for the spa massages, etc. because of the pressure to buy. I always put on my form that I am not buying any products but they still bring it up. It just takes away from the relaxation of the massage. I am hopeful this credit will be more diverse. cruiseaddictColleen Posted April 2, 2017 #34 Share Posted April 2, 2017 We just booked our cruise through CAS on Friday and nothing was mentioned about the changes. Does anyone know if this is effective now? My husband & I both have always received the $75 food & beverage credit? Is this no longer a perk? Does anyone know what the onboard credit is equivalent to? I am disappointed if it doesn't equal out to the $75 food & beverage credit.. Any information on this is appreciated. I think I will be calling CAS tomorrow.
riddle Posted April 2, 2017 #35 Share Posted April 2, 2017 You have to call CAS to get your point total. It resets April 1 each year.

SuiteCruiser Posted April 2, 2017 #39 Share Posted April 2, 2017 Pearl = $100 Sapphire = $200 Ruby = $400 Elite = $1000 Pearl is up by $25, Sapphire down by $25 and Ruby down by $50. Better for some like myself, who aren't interested in the spa. As a Sapphire I now have $100 more usable credit.

I believe the cash advance fee is to withdraw from another credit card in the casino.

asubaru Posted April 3, 2017 #42 Share Posted April 3, 2017 Thanks for posting the info, especially the the comparison. Even with the monetary value being less, I don't see it as a worse program either. It's nice not to keep track of what, how much spent where, and such. I'm sure there's many people who didn't optimize either credit. It may even entice me to spend some money in the overpriced shops!;p Pearl = $100 Sapphire = $200 Ruby = $400 Elite = $1000 Pearl is up by $25, Sapphire down by $25 and Ruby down by $50. pcakes122 Posted April 3, 2017 #43 Share Posted April 3, 2017 Has anyone been able to get details about the new cruise discounts on Regents & Oceania? CAS reps I spoke to had no clue, and when I called Regents (and spoke to a supervisor) they had never heard of this cross-line benefit. This is a great new perk (I think!) Interested to hear more if anyone has info!
clcjdn Posted April 3, 2017 #44 Share Posted April 3, 2017 So just off the Jewel today. I asked about the changes a few times and last night they let me look at the new flyer (but not take one). The information was the same as on the web site. They hosts did mention that they were adding a ceiling to the amount of Convenience Fees they would waive, but that the brochure was wrong. Now, I am not seeing a limit on the web site, so if anyone hears about a limit, please pass it along. I usually charge all of my gaming to my room and then pay off my NCL card (3x points on my gambling budget is nice). This would change my approach dramatically. Thanks in advance!
