manmtnmike Posted April 16, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 16, 2017 Hi, Sailing May 7... In the past, I've been avoiding the ships with Playlist productions, but thought I'd give it a try, lowering expectations:D...But we do enjoy the PRIDE. Please...help me out...anyone recently cruised on PRIDE -after the TA sailing. Hoping for any April reports re. bands and PBE... We do like the classic rock but any 70's and 80's music is preferred. Thanks again! Mike

splintz Posted April 17, 2017 #6 Share Posted April 17, 2017 Just got off the pride 2 days ago. I didn't go to any of the production shows. I did go to the piano bar one night it was Jeff true jones. It was the night it didn't open until 11:15 pm because I believe he was in the production show in the Taj Mahal it was called piano man or something like that. All the singers from the show were in the piano bar and took turns singing. But they were singing shows tunes and that was not what I wanted to hear so we went to another bar. Before that he sang friends in low places and that sounded good. As far as 70's and 80's music and classic rock there was a good band that played in the red frog bar every night. They were very good. I can't remember their name. I think the name was started with altered but I can't remember the rest of the name Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
Jsmomma Posted April 17, 2017 #7 Share Posted April 17, 2017 We just got off the Pride this Sunday (4/16), too! In Red Frog, they had the Alterr Band. We really enjoyed listening to them- anything 70s and 80s, especially the Eagles was done very nicely. My goofy 12 year old requested "Band on the Run". Despite the fact that they hadn't played that song since the early 80s and the band had formed only in 2015- they pulled it off. We had late dining and took to going to Red Frog around 6:30 or 7, had whatever the drink special was (good bartender, Dewa), and then went to dinner. There was also a really good lounge duo, Serene & Coco (Coco & Serene?) that was in Alchemy a couple of times and the atrium. They sang some 80s pop hits lounge style along with general lounge songs. We don't really care for any of the shows unless it's something like a comedian or musician so we don't go to them. I scanned ALL of the stuff we picked up-- Funtimes, Circle C, and random letters delivered to our cabin. I believe the Alterr band was formally Music Alterr from years ago, connected with a group of great Manilla bands mostly with MUSIC... as a prefix to their name.. Looking forward to our May 7 sailing!! Mike

Looking forward to our May 7 sailing!! Mike Before this cruise, we didn't really go and listen to any of the music acts. I think most of our past cruises had music acts near the casino but not this time. Based on the Youtube videos I found, it looks like you're right. We had a really good time- but the seas were significantly rougher than we expected. Not hurricane bad, lots of rocking and swaying. Maybe it's because it's the smallest ship we've been on in 5 cruises? My husband and son had to take Bonine from Tuesday onward. Hope you have an awesome cruise. =)
Meamat Posted May 8, 2017 #12 Share Posted May 8, 2017 Clint Fisher is a solo singer/guitarist currently on the Pride, we loved his music last year when he was on Spirit in Australia. Country influence, but plenty of other styles and songs as well.
bruce39 Posted May 12, 2017 #13 Share Posted May 12, 2017 I was on the Pride last week, and last October previously. The entertainment was wonderful this time around. Clint, Jeff and Jessie were all wonderful. Jeff's sense of humor is out there, but so is mine, so I enjoyed him. The Alter band was also great. Didn't get to see the other duo. The playlist dancers were good too. I'm not into dance shows at all, but I enjoyed the island show and the piano bar show (whatever they're called). The cast went up to the piano bar after one of the shows and banged out some songs with Jeff. That was awesome - like Karaoke on steroids. Enjoyed the bands so much, that I only went to one comedy show (which was OK). Nice to see that the Pride isn't the poor stepchild any longer when it comes to their entertainers.
