deborahjo Posted April 23, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 23, 2017 Decided to check price of our November cruise on the Splendor. It is the 26th thru December 3rd. We paid $504 pp for an interior spa cabin on deck 10. Looked today and saw was down to $443 on a casino offer. Called Carnival and she looked it up. Said we had to move from 1005 to 1006 for that rate. It remains handicap and everything else the same except we now get $61 pp OBC for a total of $122. Glad I decided to check it out today. bury me at sea Posted April 23, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 23, 2017 Congratulations. I've about given up on price drops so it's fun to see it can still happen.
deborahjo Posted April 23, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted April 23, 2017 In 11 cruises this is only the second time we have gotten OBC. The other was only $50. Have another $100 that will be added at 30 days out due to issues on last cruise. This will be the most we have ever boarded with. $222. Yea. deborahjo Posted April 23, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted April 23, 2017 Wonder since we used our casino deal if we will get any perks from the casino? Sent from my iPhone using Forums
ilovethesparkles Posted April 23, 2017 #5 Share Posted April 23, 2017 We got $60 OBC for a price drop a few weeks ago fornyour cruise on the Breeze in August. This is our 2nd cruise and I had just learned about the price protection. I didn't know it was rare to find price drops! I feel when more excited about it now! Tiger0613 Posted April 23, 2017 #6 Share Posted April 23, 2017 On 3/8/16, I booked a 5 day cruise on the Fantasy(12/26/16-12/31/16). On 3/10/16, I applied an actual VIFP offer that my mom got. The offer came with $50 OBC and free upgrades. It dropped the price $60. On 10/7/16, I called and made a price protection claim. The new offer still included $50 OBC. It dropped the price an additional $72($60 fare and $12 taxes and fees). That is a total drop of $132 plus $50 OBC.
bnorris10 Posted April 24, 2017 #7 Share Posted April 24, 2017 I love when you can save money - We were able to get $40 Price drop and $50 obc for both of our rooms so was nice to save $180 - Hoping for another drop if we get closer but considering its a christmas cruise I think I should just be thankful that I got a deal to begin with as they usually always cruise fully booked
ItsAllAboutTheSass Posted April 24, 2017 #8 Share Posted April 24, 2017 ON my Breeze cruise in 2014, I booked an 8A about 6 months prior to sailing. By sail date, I had a spa balcony and $1200 in OBC.
