westcliffo Posted April 29, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 29, 2017 We will be staying at the Hilton Rome Airport Hotel in May for one night before joining the Royal Princess. Does anyone know if it is possible to purchase wine to take on the cruise at the airport after you get your luggage?
Thejuggler Posted April 29, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 29, 2017 We arrived at Rome FCO terminal 3 a couple of weeks ago and there were no shops between arrival gate and baggage pick up.
Rare Hlitner Posted April 29, 2017 #3 Share Posted April 29, 2017 No, there are no wine shops in FCO that you will be able to access (there are plenty of shops if you are departing from FCO...but not when you arrive). There is also no place to buy wine (or anything else) near the Hilton. Hank
buchhalm Posted April 29, 2017 #4 Share Posted April 29, 2017 If you are taking a private car service to the port, ask the driver to stop at a motorway service centre / rest stop (where there are gas stations, cafeterias etc) Nearly all have a small supermarket attached there they sell pretty decent local wines (and prosciutto, salami, cheese....). Some of these "gas stations" have a better deli section than many supermarkets here! 🍷
