We are in B-408.Yes, I know, alas it's an inside cabin. We had a wonderful large balcony on the Golden in 2001 which thoroughly spoiled us,but are on a retiree's income and not much coming in from my job so we get what we can. Has anyone seen an inside cabin and what the configuration is? Do the twin beds convert??LOL.We sail on the CaribeP 9/18/04.Might see her in Ft. Lauderdale over the July 4 weekend, if we go down there. We're 2 1/2 hours from Port Everglades. Lynne

lynwar, by any chance is the CP doing Eastern on the 9/18/04 sailing? Just wondering if we have a chance to see her when we sail out of Port Canaveral on 9/19 doing Eastern.

Inywar,

Were first time cruisers - had inside cabin C411. We thought it was quite roomy. The mirrors help make that effect. Twins configure to Queen but it even felt like a King. I suggest bringing your own pillow. They were very hard. Brought my own and slept like a baby. I like that the room is nice and dark. Bring a lighted alarm clock or you will sleep until noon. Have fun...we did icon_cool.gif

lroberts-Did you email me?? If so it ended up in our filtered mail that was screened for viruses.I think it may have been deleted since I didn't recognized the address. I appreciate your reply. Try emailing again, if you wish, and I'll recognize you this time!! We had an inside on the Grand which was cozy, but enough room for 2-a nice little den to go back to for "escape"-or Hubby's nap. I've been lost with all the BA, BB, etc discussions because my husband books the cruises and I take what we get--he surprised me this time by going ahead and booking and then going by my work and handing me the booking sheet-written across it was "It's all set".Lynne

Hi, got a question about the horizon court/caribe cafe...

Do they steak and fries each night or only seefood stuff ? And is it a buffet style setup.

We loved the Winjammer on RCCL because you could just go in have a great steak and fries and leave again. No hassle.

THANKS !

Yes, we will be going on the Eastern Itinerary on 9/18 out of Port Everglades.I think it would be neat if we could see our ships out at the same time.I'll never miss the chance to see the Caribbean Princess or any other Princess when we're down in Ft. L. Next time will be July 4 weekend. You're going on the Glory, Pammy? We want to go on her sometime. My friend recently returned from a cruise aboard her,but thought She was too large. My friend is used to the smaller ones. I hope we cross paths. Lynne

Well maybe our pathes will cross then, Lynne. I went on the Glory last Fall, so far it's been my favorite cruise but that's because it was the very first Hounds group cruise. It was a blast!

Hey PammyHound, just a thought. We had two balconies on the Grand Princess last March and had them opened which worked very well. We brought a bungee cord with the hooks on each end which worked perfect for holding the doors open so they would not bang. Also if you throw in a few plastic clothes pins you can hang up a wet bathing suit or towel with out the worry of it being blown over board.

happy sailing

Pammy

-Hubby,Trevor, checked our itineraries tonight and the Glory and Caribbean Princess will be in St.Thomas and St. Maarten together. We might arrive about an hour or two apart. Also in port with us in St. Thomas will be the Celebrity Century, and I think one of the RCCL Ships--Mariner of the Seas? Perhaps that one will be in St. Maarten. I'll have to wear my new Tampa Bay Lightning Cap and Shirt so you'll recognize me! (BOLTS).(He printed out the itineraries for our two ships so that's why I have the specific reference.) Lynne

We took on beer and soda and our friends did too plus a case of water. I put some in my carry-ons and some was in checked luggage. I carried on the Corona and checked the Natural Light. I was in the casino one night with a Corona and the cocktail waitress wanted to know if she could buy one of my Coronas!
quote:
Originally posted by CruisingIsLife:

Two questions:

Did they ever play the Love Boat song while you were on the ship?

and of course:

Did you see anyone carrying on cases of water, soda or beer?

Happy Cruising

Pammy-It's Explorer of the Seas this Sept. It leaves on Sept 19 but will be in St. Maarten on Wed, Sept.22 with us.The other ship with us is the Celebrity Century. So, we have the Glory, Caribbean Princess,Explorer of the Seas, and Century together down there in St. Thomas and St. Maarten.I'm sorry that I confused you-I couldn't remember the name of the RCCL ship last night. We'd looked at a couple of the itineraries. PammyHound-

Sorry for the wait. My computer got a glitch in it yesterday and I was unable to get in. I was suffering from Board withdrawal after only one day off of here!

We will be going on a privately arranged tour with fellow cruisers (Godfrey) for practically the entire day in St. Thomas. But on Wed, in St.Maarten, our ships are supposed to arrive at 8AM.Hubby has rented a car which we will drive around the Island, and have to pick up when we arrive. But, we will be back long before the Ship sails. We're due to pull out at 5PM, you at 6. Perhaps we can meet at the Visitor's Center right at the St.Maarten Pier late in the afternoon.Supposedly, it takes an hour to drive around the Perimeter, without stops. We will stop at a few points of interest, naturally. So, that is our plan,as of now. Lynnie PS I think it is the Explorer of the Seas that will be in with us.

Lynwar, what is the exact date you're going to be in St. Thomas doing the Godfrey tour? If our ships are going to be in port the same day (We're on the Mariner arriving on Wednesday, Sept 22nd) Our HUGE number of our group is doing the Godfrey tour, over 80 of us! icon_smile.gif

According to the Princess Cruise Book for 2004-2005, which I'm looking at right now, we'll be in St Thomas on Tuesday, September 21.We're to be there at the Tour site, or meet the vehicles, at 9AM.That's according to my Board Buddy who got us on it. Darn. You know, I owe you an apology for completely confusing both of us. I had been looking at the wrong itineraries, and my husband printed out Glory's,and then we got into the Carnival site.

When we leave Port Everglades on 9/18,we're at sea for 2 days, then hit St.T on the 21st,St.Maarten on the 22nd,at sea the 23,then Princess Cays the 24th.That might mean that we won't see each other if we're a day off. That's disappointing!! Last night I was looking at Glory's itinerary when I thought we'd be in port together.I discovered it after I got off the Board. I get on right before bedtime during the week and am tired.Anyway----shucks! Lynne I now know for sure that you will be on the MARINER OF THE SEAS,and Caribbean Princess is next year, right? LOL Lynne

PammyHound, I must have gotten the Glory from somewhere, because right away I told Trevor that you were going to be on her, and we'd get to see it. So, I must not have been totally dreaming!! LOL. I'm glad that we have our cruises straight now. I will enjoy seeing you on the Boards, and will look forward to sharing our experiences when we get back--especially of Godfrey!!! Lynne

Hi PammyHound,

I was just reading some good Godfrey reviews on another site board.Well worth the time and the money. Trevor is excited today because he received all the necessary documents for our car rental in St. Maarten, plus now we have a map of the island with numbers for different locales. Plus, $30 in coupons-mostly for drinks-but some meal discounts. That makes him feel a lot better that it's a legitimate outfit! Yes, Godfrey will be tired.I wonder if he knows what he's in for with your large group!! ha ha. Lynne

Hi Lynne - Who did you get your rental car from in St. Martin? We were thinking about waiting until we got there, but the coupon thing snapped me immediately to attention! Thanks for the info. Donia
