BostonBeachGirl2017 Posted June 5, 2017 Author #26 Share Posted June 5, 2017 If I purchase OBC ahead of time and don't use it all, how is that refunded after the cruise? Yes. But you can only use refundable (purchased by you or a friend) for DSC. Non-refundable (gifted by NCL) can not be used for DSC. If DSC is pre paid, you're good either way. mom23krzkidz Posted June 5, 2017 #27 Share Posted June 5, 2017 If I purchase OBC ahead of time and don't use it all, how is that refunded after the cruise? We got a refund a few weeks after we got home for any extra refundable OBC and the cash deposit left over we didn't use. Sent from my iPad using Forums A couple of weeks after? They don't give you the money back at the end of the cruise when your account is closed out? Yes they do. I put down cash on my account and got my remaining $80 in cash back on the last night from guest services.

gma_pat Posted March 10, 2018 #31 Share Posted March 10, 2018 Not for us. We received a check about four weeks after the cruise ended for the unused refundable credit.
558 Posted March 10, 2018 #32 Share Posted March 10, 2018 not offended, i was just looking for a simple answer.... It does NOT usually work that way on CruiseCritic! lol lol lol Take my advice, if you are pre-paying your gratuities, you do not need to put down $300 on your account. Just put down what you think you will spend on the cruise and keep tabs on your spending. Add more as needed as you go along. NCL are NOT known for being quick to refund you YOUR money! I hope that helps. Thanks, Fred
