Hi

We are on Symphony on 31.03.2018 so not long now & have booked a 2 bed ATS on deck 10. Never had the genie before or been on anything bigger than Freedeom type ships so we are really looking forward to this trip.

 

When do you think the Genie will make contact? It seems to vary from what I have read & how long would you leave it before giving a nudge?

Pre cruise survey, which really doesn’t do much, comes about 2 months prior to your sail date. Your direct email from the Genie will come about 2 weeks prior to your sailing date. I would not be concerned at all right now.

 

Oasis Class, but the next 12-13 months will feel like they drag on forever.

Just a question- how much do you tip your genie for the week- a family of four.

 

I have seen various numbers, anywhere from $75 to $250 a person. The high rate said they used the Genie a lot, even calling late at night after hours and the low rate saying they needed them very little.

 

For our 3 Star Class cruises we have ranged from $100 to $200 a person. We had prepaid tips but we still tipped more to the cabin stewards.

 

It’s really just a guideline, and you will have to find what your own amount is.

Regarding tips, can you add the genies' tip to your onboard account or do you need cash?

 

We took cash, but if you can’t get cash or add the tips at GS go to the casino. Just add 5% fee to it at the casino.

Yes, we are hitting the highway on March 9th for Harmony. Watch for a review. CLR is also sailing the waters, on a different ship, at the same time so there should be some semi-good reading thanks to him.

 

We just got back from a week in Playa Del Carman on Thursday, and a couple tidbits from that adventure might hit the cruise review.

Just got off Anthem. Genies currently Allan, Yen and Jay. Allan is training Augustina as well.

 

Please let me know who the genies on Harmony are currently. We sail in June. Had Cleon last year, but was told on Anthem he was no longer with company. (say it ain't so!).

 

Will Sebastian come back to Harmony from Symphony anytime soon?

How Is Yen?

Yen is fantastic! She went way above and beyond to make our cruise special. Yen kept surprising my son with the most thoughtful gestures and gifts to make his thirteenth birthday awesome. She is very well respected from the crew and staff. They always smile and kid around with her. Yen has an easy going, delightful attitude.

Hi there- going to be saiiing on the Ovation from February 4th for a 14 night New Zealand Cruise in an Owners Loft. Our Genie is Chris Daniel, anyone with any inputs on him?

 

We had a different Genie on Ovation of the Seas, and so cannot provide feedback on Chris. But can share that Ovation is an amazing ship, and we had an incredible vacation. We hope you do as well.

We had Marla on the 5 night sailing 31st March and saw Ellis (who is the lead Genie in the RC media). Marla told me she is on until May then has a short time away but goes back by September.

Unless things have changed, Reyno is the lead Genie and is featured in RCI Media http://www.royalcaribbean.com/royalsuiteclass
