Taking wine aboard Anthem

My husband and I are sailing on Anthem in a few weeks, and this is our first sailing on RCCI. I understand we can bring 2 bottles with us (we're celebrating an anniversary). My question is, should we pack the bottles in the bags we carry on vs our checked bags? Any veterans that can give guidance?

You can do either but it is best to carry on. If left in your checked luggage, you risk not getting your luggage delivered and being called to the "naughty room".

We packed ours in our suitcase wrapped in bubble wrap and in a plastic bag....didn't want to carry them around on the ship waiting for our cabin

We carried ours on. I didn't want to risk one breaking in transit. You know how gentle bags are handled.... 😉

We had wine break in our checked bags, not a great start to a cruise so I'd recommend carrying them. Also note that you can bring the wine to the dining room without a corkage fee. It allowed us to save money and enjoy some very nice wine. Have a great trip!

Sorry for being naive... but if the answer is "either", what's stopping one person from bringing two bottles in checked and two bottles in carry-on luggage?

Pretty much...nothing. Chances are you could get away with it. But then the guilt would eat away at you with every sip!!;p

Have you boarded at the same time? My understanding was it was 2 per cabin not 2 per person? If we could bring 4 bottles from our cellar I'd be thrilled
