lmintzer Posted June 1, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 1, 2017 Title pretty much says it all. Meeting a tour at 9 (in the Dockyard, close to where ships are docked). We will be Haven guests, but this is not an NCL sponsored tour. Can we still get escorted off? I can imagine it will be quite a mob scene that early on the the first day in port. garycarla Posted June 1, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 1, 2017 Independent tour groups understand and know your arrival time very well and will deal with it. You will most probably get off in time, but might have to wait a bit for others that booked the same tour, but can not get off as early as you. This morning, we docked around 7:30 and people were disembarking by 8:15. We left at 9:15 and walked right off. JustDandy Posted June 1, 2017 #4 Share Posted June 1, 2017 Haven folks get out earliest, have their own area to come through. All disembarking usually is earlier than stated in print. I think no problem.. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Rare mking8288 Posted June 1, 2017 #5 Share Posted June 1, 2017 As Haven guests, OP should contact/speak with your concierge onboard - to learn about and make good use of priority disembarka in Bermuda ... in time to meet your private tour. It's common for them to have written info/details of how to do this in your stateroom ahead of time - ask if you don't see the "let's meet, if - to take advantage of the services. Typically, you are instructed to meet somewhere and get escorted down to the gangway, bypassing others - once you are on the pier, depending on the tour's assembly/meeting point, it's another 5, 10 or 15 minutes to walk over (there's also a complimentary Dockyard shuttle/motorized tram). Ship usually arrive @ the wharf & dock early enough and with two gangways used (one is usually set aside for VIP's like Haven and/or crew going ashore) - you should be fine. skeeter195 Posted June 1, 2017 #6 Share Posted June 1, 2017 In September we were supposed to dock at 8 am. We were able to get off earlier and we were actually on the golf course by 8.
lmintzer Posted June 1, 2017 Author #7 Share Posted June 1, 2017 Thanks, all. It sounds like we won't have a problem.
JC5240 Posted June 1, 2017 #8 Share Posted June 1, 2017 Shouldn't be a problem at all. In addition, being that you'll be docked in Bermuda for three days, the "mad rush" to get off the ship really isn't apparent on the Bermuda cruises. You'll notice it's much more leisure when disembarking the ship. The last day, on the other hand...LOL
lmintzer Posted June 2, 2017 Author #9 Share Posted June 2, 2017 The last day? Hard to get off or hard to get back on?
JC5240 Posted June 2, 2017 #10 Share Posted June 2, 2017 Not hard at all -- just more crowded getting off and on. Even still, hardly any wait really. The last day? Hard to get off or hard to get back on?
Rare BirdTravels Posted June 4, 2017 #11 Share Posted June 4, 2017 The last day? Hard to get off or hard to get back on? Getting off on the last day is easy. Early birds head off to the beach or golf course around 7:00. We went around 9:00 (walked right off) and spent 3 hours on the beach before returning to the ship.
