cbb Posted June 8, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 8, 2017 for those of you who have done a private shorex at Petra, were you asked by the guide's company to give your name, phone #, date of birth, and passport # and did you feel comfortable doing that? cbb Posted June 8, 2017 Author #2 Share Posted June 8, 2017 never mind----our TA said the tour guide is practicing due diligence with his request for the info. We'll be registered with the Jordanian govt while on the tour....higher end tours do this....whew!!!
Rare msn123 Posted June 9, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 9, 2017 Hope you are posting this on the Roll Call. We would be very interested in joining you! Have found, through the years, that is not an unusual kind of request in various parts of the world.
Rare JoePDX Posted June 9, 2017 #4 Share Posted June 9, 2017 We were also told this was so the company could get a pass from the Port Authority to come directly to the ship. Joe
cbb Posted June 9, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted June 9, 2017 joe--thanks for the confirmation! We just wanted to make sure that this was SOP!! We're warned so often about identity theft that it was OK....our TA reassured us it was all good!!! I think we're just about done figuring out what we're doing on Mumbai-Rome: a few private tours confirmed, taking advantage of the freebie shorexs (4each) and totally DIY in European ports. thanks again for your help!!! c
