cherylandtk Posted June 24, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 24, 2017 While this may not be the exact answer you are looking for, I know that the Alaska Railroad does not allow any smoking onboard the train. Princess cars are part of the train. Smoking areas are available outside at station stops.

Sea Hag Posted June 24, 2017 #4 Share Posted June 24, 2017 When we were on it going the opposite direction from what you are, it stopped at Talkeetna. It probably stops there both directions. If you're coming from Whittier, it'll surely stop in Anchorage. Why not check the Alaska Railroad website? That would be the best source of info. lladage Posted June 25, 2017 #5 Share Posted June 25, 2017 When we did an Alaska cruisetour back in 2001, there was an open-air car on the train. My husband (a smoker) spent a lot of time out there. Lynn
satxdiver Posted June 25, 2017 #6 Share Posted June 25, 2017 The train usually stops at the airport in Anchorage, Anchorage depot in downtown area and Talkeetna. I am not sure how long the stops are but they will have pax leaving and boarding the train in these locations. As stated below you will be in Princess owned train cars attached to the regularly scheduled train. The train continues to Fairbanks arriving that evening.
