Deck parties

Oceania doesn't do parties. I've seen funerals far more festive than the O Club receptions, which are about the only thing O throws that might resemble a Party. La Reserve is about the only place festive activities might be found aboard, and that's only on the O ships. As been previously pointed out on this thread, a large portion of the O cruisers are very happy with it being that way!

There is an occasional event, although apparently some here have never seen or experienced them. Nothing like the big deck parties other cruise lines have, but they do have them.

Also sometimes they will run a movie on deck after dark.

On ten Oceania cruises, we've probably experienced 3 or 4 deck parties with the Oceania Band playing, all the various show folks leading dances, conga line around the deck, etc. These have always been on warm weather cruises. All the deck furniture is rearranged so folks can sit and watch/listen. There are usually a good number of folks that join in the dancing and I seem to recall drink specials being sold. They are fun but don't last real late and having never been on any other cruise line, cannot compare. We often find ourselves coming out after a leisurely dinner to watch from the deck above.
