bettyboop16 Posted July 14, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 14, 2017 We are taking our 1st Celebrity cruise in Feb. Has this cruise line gone to the same procedure as Carnival where your need to choose a time slot for check in?
CruisersTimesThree Posted July 14, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 14, 2017 They suggest a check-in time in your final documents, but most people show up whenever is best for them. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Alakegirl Posted July 14, 2017 #3 Share Posted July 14, 2017 Celebrity has not replicated the Carnival procedure. At some ports they do give you suggested check in times organized by deck but they are requests, not requirements, designed to reduce congestion at the port. miched Posted July 14, 2017 #4 Share Posted July 14, 2017 Celebrity will send out a email suggesting a time but they won't turn you away if you show up earlier or later unless you miss the boat. The only difference with arriving early or late is that you may be hanging around the terminal but you have to choose your poison. Hang around the terminal or somewhere else killing time. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌞
easyboy Posted July 14, 2017 #5 Share Posted July 14, 2017 Some still shows up ahead of their scheduled check-in time.
Rare Hlitner Posted July 14, 2017 #6 Share Posted July 14, 2017 I am going to make a wile guess that you are cruising out of either Port Everglades (Ft Lauderdale) or the Port of Miami. If so, there will be plenty of cruisers showing up at the port by 11 am. If you go early you are going to wait in lines, eventually get checked-in...and then have to wait in a crowded waiting area for boarding. Boarding normally starts around 11:30 - Noon, but there are those with priority boarding (suites, Aqua Class, Elites, etc). So you will wait until they call your group. The alternative is to show-up after 1pm...when the lines are usually much smaller. I will admit that having taken far more then 100 cruises....we still like to get to the port early...and put up with the crowd hassles. It just adds to the pre cruise excitement ::).
