hamish57 Posted July 18, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 18, 2017 First posting, so hope I'm not asking a no-brainer. Our stateroom for the Wind Surf in December (cabin 302) has a square next to the room number. Other rooms "have stars on thars." ;) Anyone know what's up with the square? Thanks! sb44 Posted July 18, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 18, 2017 Not sure where you're seeing this. 302 and 301 are a bit of a different shape. None of the deck plans I have contain either symbol. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
sb44 Posted July 18, 2017 #3 Share Posted July 18, 2017 Just saw the deck plan on Cruise Critic. Is that where you are looking? I think it has to do with configuration or accessibility. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
hamish57 Posted July 18, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted July 18, 2017 yes: https://www.cruisecritic.com/wind-surf-deck-plans/dp/?shipID=158&deck=3 I'll call the Seattle HQ tomorrow if no one on the forum happens to know. Thanks.
Howellmc Posted July 18, 2017 #5 Share Posted July 18, 2017 Looking at Windstar's site, they do not have those marks on their website so Windstar probably won't know what Cruise Critic's marks mean. However, I think looking at the 2 I figured it out. The square means queen size bed only, no twin bed option. And the star means a 3rd berth is available. This is from Windstar's deck plans. BTW - loved the Dr Suess reference Staterooms with 3rd Berths: 117–139; all suites (excluding 501) Staterooms with One Queen Size Bed Only (no twin option): 101, 102, 157, 301-
hamish57 Posted July 18, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted July 18, 2017 Good sleuthing, Howell! You must be a regular cruise veteran . . . or if your name is Thurston Howell, maybe it was supposed to be just a "three hour tour"??
Howellmc Posted July 19, 2017 #7 Share Posted July 19, 2017 I do like looking at deck plans. Big key to picking the right cabin. Anyway, have fun on the Wind Surf. It is a beautiful ship and the crew is fantastic. BTW - If any cruise line names a ship the SS Minnow, me and my "lovie" are so on it :D
