coachj5452 Posted August 22, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 22, 2017 Can anyone tell me how far the Pirate Museum is from the cruise dock in Nassau?
Rare sparks1093 Posted August 22, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 22, 2017 It's been a long time since we've been there but it is about a 20 minute walk as I recall.
BDRebel Posted August 22, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 22, 2017 It is easy walking distance as long as you are able to walk.
debster11 Posted August 22, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 22, 2017 It's not too far, about 20 to 25 minute walk. It's worth it too. I love the Pirate Museum.
IPlayWithString Posted August 22, 2017 #5 Share Posted August 22, 2017 Just watch out for traffic...I'm pretty sure they don't believe in crosswalks in Nassau.;)
winddawn Posted August 22, 2017 #6 Share Posted August 22, 2017 Here is a small map on their website: http://www.piratesofnassau.com/location---admission.html There are numerous reviews on Trip Advisor where others state it is within easy walking distance of the cruise port. bobsfamily Posted August 22, 2017 #7 Share Posted August 22, 2017 There used to be a map that showed the Pirate Museum, Queen's Walk and several other sites that are in walking distance from the pier on this site, you might be able to search for it. The problem is that some "walkers" in the past have been accosted... perhaps you can take a cab to it?
Micahs Grandad Posted August 22, 2017 #8 Share Posted August 22, 2017 about 1/2 of a mile after you get off the pier
LabRat33470 Posted August 22, 2017 #9 Share Posted August 22, 2017 We went there in July of this year. It was not crowded and the cost more reasonable than most excursions. I was in a wheelchair and we walked there. Just crowded sidewalks and cobblestone streets for most of the way there. You also pass the straw market on your way, so there is another point of interest. Nassau sidewalks or streets are not too wheelchair friendly I but the Pirates Museum and straw market was. Lucky I had my son to help push me, and I was able to get up to traverse getting down the curbs from the sidewalk to the street and back. Had a good time in the Pirates Museum - take time to read the placques. Most of the straw market was overstuffed with the same stuff, just many pushy vendors. On one exterior side of the market they have vendors carving wood objects which was very interesting and probably the only part of the market I liked or would go back to. BDRebel Posted August 22, 2017 #12 Share Posted August 22, 2017 I guess I didn't word it well. If you are not physically challenged, and are able to walk on bad sidewalks and cobblestone streets, then it is an easy walk.

We followed a walking tour map, and found it to be an interesting stop. See below. In Pirate talk, it's up the hill, just past...(censored), and to the right. https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1z0pKUFtyYA1D0nd8O4dC9Q3pJSE&hl=en&ll=25.072908284314764%2C-77.34217303704833&z=16 Edited August 22, 2017 by jwjax
tef43 Posted August 22, 2017 #14 Share Posted August 22, 2017 Everywhere is within walking distance, if you have the time. In all seriousity, the Pirate Museum is fantastic, or to quote the Fat Man, "brilliant."

Ocean Dancer Posted August 23, 2017 #17 Share Posted August 23, 2017 What is the entrance fee for the Pirates Museum and how big is it? How long does it take to enjoy it?
marshhawk Posted August 23, 2017 #18 Share Posted August 23, 2017 I think we spent an hour there, two years ago, forget the price, it was worth it for us on a rainy day. Christ Church is across the street, and that was free and so beautiful, with so much history. it was a great day in the rain!

LabRat33470 Posted August 23, 2017 #20 Share Posted August 23, 2017 In July 2017 it was $13 adults and $6.50 children. We were there for a little over an hour but could have stayed longer had others in our group (family) not been so eager to get back to the ship (missing their Cheers time...). Cinders411 Posted August 23, 2017 #22 Share Posted August 23, 2017 After our tour of the town excursion, the van driver dropped us off at the museum. We could see the ship from there. Easy walk. For us the museum was just okay. That has been several years ago so perhaps it is better now.
Warm Breezes Posted August 23, 2017 #23 Share Posted August 23, 2017 One of my favorite cruise pictures is from there back in 2007. It was about a 15 minute walk. My kids were 10 and 13 at the time and we all enjoyed our time there.

Rare sparks1093 Posted August 23, 2017 #25 Share Posted August 23, 2017 2nd try with a picture :o One of my favorites involved the pirate dude at the entrance. We asked if the boys could pose with him and he posed each of them like they were in a great big fight with him, giving one his cutlass to use, another his pistol. They loved it.
