ChrisNCruiser Posted October 13, 2017 #126 Share Posted October 13, 2017 I started that thread. Yeah, I guess you're right. Shoulda just enjoyed the pool in our room and not complained Sent from my iPhone using Forums We had heard it had happened and saw them cleaning up the aftermath, but this is bad. Sorry this happened to you. When we got on the ship we noticed that our toilet kept slowly trickle-filling up way past the normal point; we just got used to flushing it every time we went by the cabin and every two hours or so in the cabin :-/ Were you compensated any extra, like another whopping $50 cabin credit? Rare Cruisegirl6 Posted October 13, 2017 #128 Share Posted October 13, 2017 I am sure you do it sure sounds like the ship has major problems. I do hope Carnival contact you and do something for you.
Mawelch Posted October 14, 2017 #129 Share Posted October 14, 2017 Yep, no Alchemy. The Cole Porter bar remains in front of the Cole Porter lounge. I thought it was called the Great Gatsby bar
ChrisNCruiser Posted October 14, 2017 #130 Share Posted October 14, 2017 I thought it was called the Great Gatsby bar Yep. Sorry, I couldn't remember the name but figured everyone would know I meant the old bar. Thanks for the correction.:)
LucyB. Posted October 14, 2017 #131 Share Posted October 14, 2017 Carnival isn't doing much at all for us post sailing. Our fellow passengers on the 10/7 sailing made it awesome. Not too many of the staff members were happy to see us. The casino staff was nice. All in all we had fun, but will I sail Elation or from Jax again, not unless they make it too cheap not to. I booked Fantasy in Jan. trying CCL one last time. So it hasn't prevented me from booking again.

jeff92k7 Posted October 15, 2017 #133 Share Posted October 15, 2017 Anyone know what's going on the big open area above the new cabins? The deck plan just says “sun deck” and doesn’t show anything. My guess is they will put deck chairs up there for lounging, but it’s possible that it might just stay empty. It would be odd for carnival to have any unused space on board, but being that it’s at the very top and would be subject to wind gusts and weather, it may just be left alone. This is the first fantasy class ship with the grand deck added, so there are no other ships with that deck configuration to compare it to. mikayla73 Posted October 15, 2017 #134 Share Posted October 15, 2017 Thanks I was thinking maybe just chairs for relaxing.

Sent from my iPhone using Forums I was up there (see my pics). It's spacious, has a great view, and convenient to the new cabins. There were stacks of deck chairs and tables under the deck in an unfinished hallway I peeked in when I had the chance. I'm sure they are meant for that deck once the new cabins are finished. If I booked one of those cabins, I can imagine spending time up there on port days.
futureCPR Posted October 15, 2017 #136 Share Posted October 15, 2017 Thank you for posting pictures! I’m having my wedding aboard during the November 9th sailing and was wondering what it would look like. I hope they fix all of the hiccups by then! ChrisNCruiser Posted October 15, 2017 #137 Share Posted October 15, 2017 Now that I'm back from my trip (we went to Disney World for a couple of days after the cruise), I've had time to add more pictures of the Elation's first cruise after dry dock. They're basically more of the same... https://photos.app.goo.gl/BtmTtQZPfPNfUuXJ2
mlyness Posted November 1, 2017 #138 Share Posted November 1, 2017 What about the jogging track -does it still exist on the upgraded Elation? We plan to sail on her Dec. 2. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Sent from my iPhone using Forums I have not been on her yet, but understand that the jogging track has been removed and the mini golf is in it's place. My husband is a runner and normally runs on the deck before most people are up since he hates that treadmill and the jogging track was so small anyway. marshhawk Posted November 2, 2017 #140 Share Posted November 2, 2017 Thank you for the pictures-I am sailing on her on 12/11 too. I could care less about a bar ( I don't drink) but I will miss the jogging track. Guess I will have to do my other walking by starting on the Riviera and walking around and up, around and up to the lido/ Trust me, it's more than a mile LOL! For some reason your porthole looks very narrow, what level where you on. I know when we did E7 the cabin was narrow. Glad to know there is a fridge, glad to know about a hair dryer, I am used to the wind blow dry technique, and I am really glad there is more than one plug. Thanks for the update-the restaurants look much improved!

2Shoes2Go Posted November 2, 2017 #143 Share Posted November 2, 2017 Are there cabins being installed aft on deck 9 (Promenade), in the Cole Porter Lounge? Getting this info from Housekeeping and other officers on Paradise and Glory. Like a big secret?! Even from Epherim, Miami, with a wink! Yes or No? I don’t think cabins were added in the place of the Cole Porter Lounge- mainly because they have our wedding ceremony scheduled for the lounge next Saturday. ChrisNCruiser Posted November 22, 2017 #147 Share Posted November 22, 2017 Great photos. What camera did you use? Was it a DSLR or point and shoot? Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk Sorry for the late reply - haven't checked the thread in a while. Most were taken with my cell phone, and others were taken with a Sony point-and-shoot. jeff92k7 Posted November 22, 2017 #148 Share Posted November 22, 2017 ...others were taken with a Sony point-and-shoot. That's selling your stuff a bit short, isn't it? Ha ha. That's a $500 mirrorless camera and not really a point and shoot (based on the EXIF data).

ChrisNCruiser Posted November 22, 2017 #150 Share Posted November 22, 2017 So what would you recommend ? I would hate to be selling on the short size. Yeah, but it's nowhere near $500. We got it as an Amazon Warehouse Deal for literally $6 shipped (which is the only reason we purchased it), and we were shocked when it actually showed up. Couple very minor scratches, and the body is hideous white, but the lens was fine. Since it's not really a DSLR with fun dials for aperature / shutter, etc, I still consider it point-and-shooty, since it's just easier to keep it in Auto mode. Think it's a couple generations old, but no complaints considering what we paid for it :-P
