Stefan_Cruise Posted September 9, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 9, 2017 Does anyone know if the Seabourn ships have a exhaust gas purification system? The pollution of a cruiseship could be really a health problem - look at the article http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/cruises/articles/cruise-industry-failing-environment-and-public-health-report-claims/
jdaa Posted September 26, 2017 #2 Share Posted September 26, 2017 Does anyone know if the Seabourn ships have added the capability to use shoreside electric power? Eliminates cruise ship pollution while in port, which is becoming a major issue for port cities. Well written Cruise Critic article on the issue: https://www.cruisecritic.com/articles.cfm?ID=1214
Able Seaman H Posted September 28, 2017 #3 Share Posted September 28, 2017 I believe I'm right in saying that Encore came into service with an exhaust scrubber EGCS installed. I'm not sure if and when the O class ships are being retro-fitted. I know Carnival have invested some $400 million on EGCS for around 60 ships within their fleet so it is something that's being addressed.
