Rochmom Posted September 16, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 16, 2017 Was scheduled to be on the Magic 09/09/17, and because of the change to a 3 day from a 7 day, I took the opportunity to re-book to a later date. Was informed this morning that even though EVERY THING ELSE I paid for was either refunded (shore excursions, wi-fi, Bottomless Bubbles) or credited to my new booking (fare, taxes, gratuities) Carnival will NOT refund my port transfer payment because I didn't take the 3 day cruise to Nassau/Freeport and I didn't cancel more than 5 days from the date of original sailing. Anyone else encountered this, and had any luck getting this refunded or given OBC for the amount? Seriously, if Carnival had made up their minds sooner, I would have re-booked sooner. JaniceB Posted September 18, 2017 #3 Share Posted September 18, 2017 That doesn't sound correct, but I have never had any experieince with this so I would ask to speak to a manager.
winddawn Posted September 18, 2017 #4 Share Posted September 18, 2017 "The vehicle operator is an independent contractor. Carnival assumes no liability for losses, damages or injuries in connection with the use of the operator. Carnival reserves the right to discontinue transfer service at any time. Prices and acceptable flight times are subject to change without notice. *Transfer rates are subject to change and unused services are non-refundable." https://www.carnival.com/cruise-transfers.aspx Carnival's policy doesn't mention any exceptions. You'll have to plead your case to Carnival to see if they will bend their no-refund rule. FWIW, when I choose to buy Carnival transfers, I never purchase the return transfer until I'm on the ship. Then if something changes, my money isn't at risk. I purchase it at Guest Services the day before the ship returns to port.
