malony33 Posted September 16, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 16, 2017 Hi, again, On an 11-night cruise, which nights are those at dinner in the MDR that are considered "special" to the extent that we might have special items on the menu, such as surf and turf, perhaps the wait staff et al might present the baked Alaska in a little march (whatever), and some of us might "dress up? For example, are those dinners on nights #2 and #8? I like those evenings and do not want to miss them by dining in one of the specialty restaurants. Hope this is clearer! Many thanks.

phoenix_dream Posted September 16, 2017 #3 Share Posted September 16, 2017 I think on 11 night cruises the schedule of dress up nights (now called Elegant Chic) can vary depending on the Captains decision and the itinerary. The second one is almost always the second to last night. The first one tends to be the first sea day, but on a port intensive cruise it is less certain which day it is. As has been said, there is no longer any baked Alaska or anything on the last Elegant Chic night but often the entrees are a bit more special (like filet mignon or lobster). cynbar Posted September 16, 2017 #4 Share Posted September 16, 2017 If you post the specific 11 night cruise you are taking, someone should have more specific info for you. The "Evening Chic" nights are the ones where the menu is usually a little more special --- that info will be available when you board the ship, and you can make your specialty restaurant plans at that point. cruisin lady ca Posted September 16, 2017 #5 Share Posted September 16, 2017 The baked Alaska march is no longer done However, baked Alaska was served in the MDR on our recent cruise on Equinox.
jelayne Posted September 17, 2017 #6 Share Posted September 17, 2017 No singing waiters, no napkin waving and no parade of baked Alaska. The beef Wellington on the EC nights is great.
