Spanieleyes Posted September 22, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 22, 2017 We have ported in Koper before and did a fantastic tour that included Vintgar Gorge, Lake Bled and Ljubljana. We are now wondering which trip to do on or cruise next year, and wondered if anyone has any recommendations. Many thanks.
AFL Kiwi Posted September 24, 2017 #2 Share Posted September 24, 2017 Hi Not sure how active you are but when we were here in April of this year we did a biking tour with Koper Tours details of which are below. We can offer you a Private/Shared Guided Parenzana Biking Tour, as per description with a professional English speaking guide, trekking bikes, obligatory helmets, with end in Portoroz and return transfer back to the ship. Please let us to know how many of you are interested for this tour. We can put departure at 12:00 and you are back around 4:30pm. The price is 75,00 euros per pax (on minimum 4people) We thoroughly enjoyed our personal interaction with our guide who took us to salt farms, olive groves, and told us a lot about himself and his family as well as the general area. We stopped for coffee and cake during the tour as well as ice-cream at the end. Highly recommended

Cindy Posted February 3, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 3, 2018 We used Roundabout Travel for an excellent trip to the caves and Lipica Stud Farm. Another group from our ship used the same company for Ljubljana and Lake Bled. We were all very pleased with our experience. edinburgher Posted February 27, 2018 #5 Share Posted February 27, 2018 First time in Koper we went to Ljubljana and Lake Bled, for a second visit we were looking for a different option. We decided on a visit to nearby Piran and would highly recommend this charming and picturesque town, so easy to reach from Koper. We loved it. We got the idea from previous threads on cruisecritic when I searched using the word Koper. The cruiseline might offer a shorex but it isn't actually necessary to do this as you could go by public bus, HOHO or taxi. For info on different transport options, insert the word PIRAN (or Koper) into the "search this forum" box and read the threads which pop up in the results. There should also be lots of photos of Piran online to help you decide.

TGBoss Posted February 27, 2018 #7 Share Posted February 27, 2018 We also went to Piran - very picturesque and easy to get to by local bus. We had a great seafood lunch there too. Highly recommend!
