bar1068 Posted September 25, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 25, 2017 No worries, I'm not going to solicit for the names of any Carnival PVP, but do have this burning question. The PVP we've been using the last few years, rather abruptly....retired. For those that have bookings made with, he recommended another associate he's worked with to move those bookings too. He provided this persons contact info. In that info, the person is listed or noted as and ELITE Personal Vacation Planner. I've cruised Carnival for a bunch of years now, had a few PVP's, but never a EPVP. Anyone worked with an EPVP, are they more astute at helping plan and book cruise with Carnival? Elite is a designation given by Carnival to it's more successful PVPs. I would think at least you would know the PVP is experienced to earn that recognition. This board is full of opinions about PVPs, and in my experience, some are better than others. Some inexperienced PVPs don't seem to be as knowledgeable as their customers are. If you've cruised Carnival for years, you likely already know that. My PVP is not elite status, but she has been my PVP for years, and she's very helpful to me. I think the more important thing is to try to get an experienced PVP.
tandemcruzr Posted September 25, 2017 #3 Share Posted September 25, 2017 Ours is an EPVP. She really does go above and beyond over our 30+ cruises using her.
bar1068 Posted September 25, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted September 25, 2017 Thanks for these replies..thats what I was wondering, if the folks that attain the "Elite" status provide better service when booking...although it's going on a day that I emailed this person, at the suggestion of my outgoing PVP and I've not heard back.....must be because she's very busy
timeinthesand Posted September 25, 2017 #5 Share Posted September 25, 2017 I don't understand the need in using one. Always managed to find what I've been looking for.

winddawn Posted September 25, 2017 #7 Share Posted September 25, 2017 I don't understand the need in using one. Always managed to find what I've been looking for. In addition to providing the excellent customer service I've come to enjoy, recent examples of why I value my PVP: 1. She forwards my shareholder documentation to the appropriate person each cruise so I get shareholder credit timely. 2. She's helped me get milestone credit. 3. I recently found a paper gift card that someone sent me before electronic or plastic gift cards started (it was several years old), and my PVP helped me get the value applied to my booking. 4. My PVP provides valuable information allowing me to take advantage of casino offers that I wouldn't otherwise know about. (can you say free cruise?) 5. She's called me out of the blue in the past to let me know I showed up on a list she was provided for free and discounted cruise offers. This was very helpful during the economic downturn of the U.S. economy. 6. She always returns my calls timely to answer questions, and I know when she does, I can trust her answers, unlike the 800 number reps. 7. She is very knowledgeable about what is going on with Carnival, and advises me of that information as it applies to my booking situation. The bottom line is I receive excellent customer service, along with valuable information that saves me money.

Probably slim chance but I wonder if we have the same one? Too bad we can't mention names on here but her initials are LJ and she recently had a baby.:D
cfr70 Posted September 26, 2017 #10 Share Posted September 26, 2017 I'm jealous because I always seem to get stuck with the crappy, useless PVP's who know absolutely nothing. :(

Wheels87 Posted August 3, 2019 #13 Share Posted August 3, 2019 I have had the very best PVP (AF) for many years now. I have booked at least 15 cruises with multiple staterooms with her and referred her a lot of other customers. No matter what the circumstance, she always comes through for me, including last minute changes/additions, etc. She has managed to get change fees waived on occasion as well. I can text her anytime and she will call me day or night. It's not that I expect her to answer answer at night, but she will often call immediately, even when I tell her it's no big deal. The best part...she is one of the nicest customer service rep I have ever dealt with. Cheers! Brad
PA Dutchman Posted August 3, 2019 #14 Share Posted August 3, 2019 If I ever have a problem with anything I call the Diamond desk. My PVP is used to book our cruise only.. We already have everything made out , all he has to do is book it and send me a E mail with the info .
