Rare spinnaker2 Posted October 13, 2017 Author #29 Share Posted October 13, 2017 Morning here and thanks all for the good wishes and grand suggestions. Rainy, in fact pouring during the night. It's that tropical wave. The temperature is 80 F now and will be 86 F at high noon. The great news is we will be leaving the rainy weather soon, if only just to be aboard ship under cover! Our suite is on the port side, midship. Same level as the Arts Cafe. Car will come to pick us up in several hours. Time to get moving!

Rare spinnaker2 Posted October 13, 2017 Author #31 Share Posted October 13, 2017 We are aboard. So many crew members we know with hugs and kisses. What a treat. Lunch at atlantide. Twas yummalicious. Explored the ship and met potential trivia members. Sail away was sunny and humid. I am a told ship is full.

Rare spinnaker2 Posted October 15, 2017 Author #38 Share Posted October 15, 2017 Sorry but I am having issues posting photos. I will keep trying. Last evening we dined in Indochine. Delightful change, and not spicy at all. It was quite crowded, and pax looked as if they were enjoying it. Tremendous thunder storms through the night, a spectacular send off from the mainland. Today it is so humid the floor in LaTerrazza is sweating. It's like an ice skating rink. The level of service is exceptional, but I believe it is because of so many seasoned crew aboard. We recognize their commitment to making this cruise special. There are lots of changes which I shall try to write about later. Tonight is the first formal night. Rare spinnaker2 Posted October 15, 2017 Author #39 Share Posted October 15, 2017 While Key West commerce is mainly intact, there is evidence of Irma, as in the stove in vessels above. Sent from my iPad using Forums

Rare jpalbny Posted October 15, 2017 #42 Share Posted October 15, 2017 Really cool sunrise shot! Scary pics of Key West. They seem low-res, though. Can't make out much detail. Sent from my SM-G930T using Forums mobile app
Observer Posted October 15, 2017 #43 Share Posted October 15, 2017 The humidity immediately fogged my camera lens as the sun rose this morning... Sent from my iPad using Forums Cool trick I learned on recent cruise to address the problem of fogged lenses. (Trick requires verandah cabin.) Place camera or binoculars in an airtight Jiffy/ziploc bag. Place item on verandah so that camera/binoculars warm up without fogging. When you are ready to use the item, remove it from bag. Fogging, if any, should be minimal.
Rare Silver Spectre Posted October 15, 2017 #44 Share Posted October 15, 2017 Hi Spinnaker2, Thanks for posting, interestingly your photos are only showing when logged in. Glad you enjoyed Indochine. Bolshoi Posted October 15, 2017 #45 Share Posted October 15, 2017 Spinnaker2 - my wife and I will embark in Valpo. I was wondering if the restaurants designated formal under the old Muse format (La Dame and Atlantide) remain formal during informal nights? Rare spinnaker2 Posted October 15, 2017 Author #46 Share Posted October 15, 2017 Hello all. Don't know how to fix picture issue. Any suggestions welcome. Restaurants now follow the dress code as if on other ships. Informal on formal nights in la T, kaiseki and silver note. Hot rocks and spaccanaopli casual on all nights. Evening dress code applies after 18:00 hours in all venues. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Rare spinnaker2 Posted October 15, 2017 Author #47 Share Posted October 15, 2017 Just had a fun and terrific lunch on the pool deck Grilled fresh fish and shrimp. Yummy. Lots of pax by pool. Crew continues to work hard to please. They are amazing. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Rare spinnaker2 Posted October 15, 2017 Author #48 Share Posted October 15, 2017 Mr silver I have nothing to compare old menus with to comment. La t is always the same. Never changes. They offer more choices, but, not like before where every three days it is different. I don't think indochine changes either. Pool menu is definitely different. A grilled spit food offered every day. DH had tuna sandwich yesterday, it looked fantastic but had no taste according to spouse. Onion rings are minced bits fried. As mentioned today's buffet fabulous. Rare spinnaker2 Posted October 15, 2017 Author #50 Share Posted October 15, 2017 Just came back to our room and an entire ziplock bag of broiled salted cashews had arrived! DH asked for cashews. Well, here they are. And a lot. It's Silversea and its how the crew works. Kudos. Sent from my iPad using Forums
