Capt_BJ Posted October 5, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 5, 2017 According to Florida Today, 10/5: DoubleTree by Hilton, Cocoa Beach will remain closed "until around 1 Jan" there was exterior damage, some a/c units were blown off, and water intrusion 'throughout the hotel' Country Inn & Suites will be closed until early December - the exact date "depends on how this weather holds up." there was water intrusion to the lobby and many rooms requiring carpeting, drywall and painting. other hotels are saying they many have a handful of rooms closed due to damage but the properties are open .... overall, roughly 500 of over 9000 hotel rooms are 'offline', the two closed hotels represent 298 of those. Knights on the Beach Posted October 9, 2017 #4 Share Posted October 9, 2017 The Hilton is a nice property but none of the rooms have balconies.
samiam0403 Posted October 9, 2017 #5 Share Posted October 9, 2017 Well darn. I just received an e-mail today from the manager at the Cocoa Beach Doubletree which states my reservation is cancelled and the hotel will not reopen until 31 Dec 17. Came here to see if the Homewood Suites would be open since that's where I stayed last time. Looks like the Hilton it is!
Capt_BJ Posted October 9, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted October 9, 2017 Homewood is open according to the article ...
samiam0403 Posted October 11, 2017 #7 Share Posted October 11, 2017 Homewood is open according to the article ... Oops! You are correct. In my quick read, I mixed up Homewood Suites with Country Inn and Suites. Either way, the Hilton was the same price as Homewood for me, so I'll just stay with Hilton. Thanks, though! :)
