emptynester53 Posted October 8, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 8, 2017 Do cruise ships provide beach towels (for off ship use) or do we take our own? If not provided, where can we buy mats that are disposable at end of the cruise?
MarkSeattle Posted October 8, 2017 #2 Share Posted October 8, 2017 Yes, they’re provided, but depending on the line you may have to check them out and you get charged if they’re not returned. Best of my memory is that Carnival and Princess provide them in your room and/or in bins by the pool, Royal Caribbean has you check them out poolside. easyboy Posted October 8, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 8, 2017 Cruise ships usually provide them. You may have to post your inquiry on your cruise line forum for a definite answer. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
emptynester53 Posted October 8, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted October 8, 2017 Thanks--I was hoping that was the case. And yes, good idea to ask the cruise line specifically.
julie3fan Posted October 8, 2017 #5 Share Posted October 8, 2017 If you want to buy a beach mat, look for an ABC store. I think the mats are pretty cheap, and the stores are VERY easy to find!
OCruisers Posted October 8, 2017 #6 Share Posted October 8, 2017 Seems you'll be on a NCL ship. Absolutely, you will be provided with beach towels for your use to take ashore. They are replaced with clean ones when dirty or whenever you wish. :D

Exactly what I was going to write! You can't swing a dead cat without hitting an ABC Store in Hawaii! Get a cheap rolled or folded mat (under $10) and just keep it for the cruise. At the last beach, just get rid of the mat. I like to have both a mat and a towel.
Rare Keith1010 Posted October 9, 2017 #9 Share Posted October 9, 2017 Have a great time on the cruise. And enjoy the beach. Keith

emptynester53 Posted October 9, 2017 Author #11 Share Posted October 9, 2017 Sorry about the Uber question--wrong thread. This site confuses me sometimes. Anyway, thank you all--getting excited!
cb at sea Posted October 9, 2017 #12 Share Posted October 9, 2017 All cruise lines provide beach/pool towels!
emptynester53 Posted October 9, 2017 Author #13 Share Posted October 9, 2017 Thank you!! Now, it seems like a silly question but I'd have hated to get there and have to buy something I could have brought from home. We usually take beach chairs, coolers and everything when we drive to the beach!! I'll be happy with a mat and towel on this trip!

This ^^^^^^ You cannot go anywhere without walking past an ABC store or two or three or more. :D And the mats are quite cheap. More expensive in Waikiki that other stores, but still pretty cheap.
