maffwoo Posted October 26, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 26, 2017 Hello! I’m going on a cruise tomorrow with Royal Carribean. I just wanted to know if I need to bring enough cigarettes with me or can I buy them on board and take them back to my room. I read that on some cruises you don’t get your duty free cigarettes until the last morning of your cruise. Please help! Thanks :)
Rare 1025cruise Posted October 26, 2017 #2 Share Posted October 26, 2017 Correct, you don't receive duty free cigarettes until the last evening to pack to take off. You might be able to buy full price packs, but it might be cheaper to bring your own. Also, please keep in mind that the ship will have designated smoking areas for you. lisiamc Posted October 26, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 26, 2017 Maybe you can bring them on board if you buy them ashore? I’ve never seen any taken away and held when re-boarding, (but I haven’t really been looking since I don’t smoke).
SRF Posted October 26, 2017 #4 Share Posted October 26, 2017 I thought I saw people carrying cartons out of the ship onboard during sea days. But I don't smoke so not sure.
cb at sea Posted October 26, 2017 #5 Share Posted October 26, 2017 The sell them, but I'd bring what I need...they don't carry a large selection. When I smoked ,they never had my brand!
OCruisers Posted October 26, 2017 #6 Share Posted October 26, 2017 Welcome to Cruise Critic. :) They don't have a large selection ... best to bring your own or plan to buy them in one of your ports of call. ;)
hollyberry Posted October 26, 2017 #7 Share Posted October 26, 2017 I always buy them on the ship and have always taken them right to my cabin. My last cruise was 07/17 and had no problem. They don’t have a huge choice in brands just the most popular. Marlboro, Newport etc Sent from my iPad using Forums

Always able to take them right back to our cabin. Have a wonderful cruise!!!! Experienced this exact same thing just a couple weeks ago on an RCI cruise. My BIL bought 4 cartons (40 packs) without any waiting period. The price averaged under $3 per pack.
