monakayk Posted October 28, 2017 #51 Share Posted October 28, 2017 Instead of getting your sail and sign card when you check in, the card is in an envelope waiting outside your stateroom. I didn't think it would make that much of a difference, but check in was super fast! Thanks for the info.
Cruisin 4 Ever Posted October 28, 2017 #52 Share Posted October 28, 2017 this process was on the Splendor on our last cruise. It did not streamline check in at all in my view. It's just sort of moved to the beginning. It was no big deal to us except that I do love to have those sail and sign cards in my hand while waiting to board but that is very minor. The cards were in a sealed envelope waiting for us in the mailbox outside our room
Shaded Lady Posted October 28, 2017 #53 Share Posted October 28, 2017 I'm not sure where people get the idea that your card is swiped every time you use it and therefore your picture pops up. I'm just off the Victory (where they are using the new system without a single problem) where 9 out of 10 times they don't even take your card from you- they simply glance at it to get the folio number and that's it- this was true in the DR, the lido deck, the seafood shack and several bars including the casino bar. I think the only time your card is actually scanned is entering and leaving the ship. In any case, the new system is great and the envelope is completely sealed and there is no need to for anyone to worry about it. Whether your card is swiped or the # entered manually, your photo comes up on the register they're at... - just noticed several others posted this same comment before me! Pardon the redundancy! markntara Posted October 30, 2017 #54 Share Posted October 30, 2017 There are dozens of threads regarding this change and ALL the questions about someone "taking" someone's card etc....do a search and start reading as there have been some good answers to these questions....;p Originally posted by LouisianaCruiser4200 Really there is NO reason for hostile comments like this. Just move on if you don't like what someone else is doing I kept reading this post over and over trying to find the hostile comment :confused: LouisianaCruiser says "Just move on if you don't like what someone else is doing" but yet stopped to make comment. Bahhahahahhhahhaaaa! :D:D:D such good stuff. Obviously we're not into all that practicing what we preach. There is hierarchy here!
