lcpagejr Posted November 4, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 4, 2017 Thats strange??? The ship docked at 1:30am ....I was watching on cruise tracker since my daughter was finishing a cruise on the Norwegian Escape...That ship docked at 1am. I can't ever recall ships arriving so early????
lgdick54 Posted November 4, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 4, 2017 To me no , to her yes . She was asking me if I had read anything on here. All kind of things can delay a sailing, they can make up the time overnight so the arrivals remain on schedule. Hope she has a great cruise, lots of things to do while they wait for sailaway Sent from my SM-G920T using Tapatalk
Brittanynichole Posted November 4, 2017 #7 Share Posted November 4, 2017 I was on the Vista and got off today. I’m not sure what the problem was however you could tell they were hauling butt to get back to the port for whatever reason. They started letting us off the boat before 7am today too. jewliana Posted November 4, 2017 #8 Share Posted November 4, 2017 Hope they are able to get everything fixed! We board her next Sunday :-) I hate it when they leave so late because the casino cant open and you have to pay taxes on your drinks but then....Miami is lovely in the moonlight :-)
hockeyluver Posted November 4, 2017 Author #9 Share Posted November 4, 2017 Their first 2 days are sea days so no need to rush. Just watching the webcam and none of the ships have left Miami yet. http://www.portmiamiwebcam.com/
amready Posted November 4, 2017 #10 Share Posted November 4, 2017 We got off two weeks ago and they had come in early around 2:30 am for some maintenance repairs. The cruise after us left late also.

nae418 Posted November 5, 2017 #12 Share Posted November 5, 2017 Hi: I, along with 18 family members and friends was on Vista Oct 21-29, something similar happened to us. I found out at 4pm, we were not leaving at 4pm. We were told it would be 8pm. We all were disappointed because our dinner was at 6pm and we had hoped to be waving during the day as we sailed out of Miami. Not the case! So.. most of rushed up to the deck to see the night sail away, my sister, age 75 waited 2 hours up there. No departure. Cruise Director then said we would not be leaving at 8pm, this crap went on and on, him telling us we will be leaving soon. He said it 15 times!!! No explanation at all as too why the delay! Most of us settled in for the night around 11pm, I was very disappointed because although I'm Platinum, I got my luggage around 10:30pm. Everybody with me had their luggage? I found out the next day, we didn't leave until just before 12 midnight! Every port of call except Aruba the arrival and departure time changed, very frustrating. I heard 3 days into the Cruise, a Carnival Team member on board said there was engine trouble and a rotor had to be replaced. hmm. on a new ship? We rocked and rolled quite a bit, most thought the water was choppy, hmm... maybe they didn't replace that broken rotor? Besides that we all had a wonderful time. The Highlight for us was our Philadelphia Eagles played and we got to watch and enjoyed the win! Hope they leave soon! I'm watching the Miami Webcam, saw the fireworks. Happy Honeymoon!!!
Micahs Grandad Posted November 5, 2017 #13 Share Posted November 5, 2017 Moving ship, things break but they should at least let you know what is going on.

hockeyluver Posted November 5, 2017 Author #15 Share Posted November 5, 2017 They did leave at 9 not 10 as they were told. She heard at dinner that there were pipes leaking that had to be fixed. She said sailing away at night was absolutely beautiful.

She said sailing away at night was absolutely beautiful. Fantastic! If a ship is delayed it is usually due to a maintenance issue and although inconvenient to the passengers, it is done for their safety. These ships run pretty much 24/7/365 under harsh conditions so there are times things have to be fixed. Just ask the passengers of the Triumph several years ago how bad it can get if systems fail at sea. Hope she enjoys the rest of her cruise. beerman2 Posted November 5, 2017 #17 Share Posted November 5, 2017 Another report was the low tide affecting ships coming into /out of the port. With others ships leaving late that stands to reason.
AdGuyMG Posted November 5, 2017 #18 Share Posted November 5, 2017 She heard at dinner that there were pipes leaking that had to be fixed. Hi: a Carnival Team member on board said there was engine trouble and a rotor had to be replaced So now we have leaky pipes, a rotor replacement and low tide issues. Pellaz Posted November 6, 2017 #19 Share Posted November 6, 2017 Another report was the low tide affecting ships coming into /out of the port. With others ships leaving late that stands to reason. That's a possibility. If that's the case, the NWS will issue a "low water advisory" for deeper-draft shipping at the port; I've seen it before. cruise_control Posted November 14, 2017 #20 Share Posted November 14, 2017 We were told that at least 17 passengers who booked air through Carnival had delayed flights.
Pellaz Posted November 15, 2017 #21 Share Posted November 15, 2017 We were told that at least 17 passengers who booked air through Carnival had delayed flights. That happened to our cruise last year on Conquest. A flight from Toronto was delayed several hours and we left late enough that muster drill was held DURING sailaway. A couple on our Roll Call were on that delayed flight and they pulled the gangway back and cast off as soon as they got onboard.
