**LIVE** Adventure of the Seas 11/25-12/2

Recommended Posts

We went to the dining room tonight for dinner. We have my time dining but didn’t make a reservation. We went at 6:50 and were seated right away. We enjoyed everything! And made a reservation for tomorrow night at 6:30 with the same wait staff. Day four is a sea day and the second formal night so we figured it probably would be a good idea to make a reservation.

The meet and mingle was tonight at 5pm in Cloud 9. Unfortunately we were sleeping so we missed it.

I have misses the M&M on our last two cruises, RCL schedules these meetings at the most inopportune times.

Purchased the internet and drink package combo. I think it’s just surf.?. Not really sure. It works fine for the internet. I’ve had a few problems trying to periscope. Sometimes it works great. Other times I can’t get a signal to do it.

We haven’t really checked out anything other than the schooner bar and Gravity the sports bar. We’ve enjoyed both.

After dinner we went to the Hypnotist show in the Lyric theater. It was really funny! After the hypnotist we stayed for the late night adult comedian. Another great show.

After the comedian we went to the schooner bar for another night of piano and singing by Chester. He is really good and we have enjoyed him a lot! Once Chester was done playing for the night we grabbed a slide of pizza at the cafe promenade and then called it a night. Even after our 3 hour nap I still fell right to sleep and slept until 9:30. It’s amazing how tired you can get just by relaxing!

Today is a sea day so after sleeping in we made a FaceTime call to our 5 year old granddaughter before she went to school. She had called us last night while we were at the hypnotist show and once that was done she was already asleep. Our oldest daughter and granddaughter live at home with us so our granddaughter is really missing us. We took the two grandkids to Disney last year without their parents so she couldn’t understand why she wasn’t able to go on the cruise with us, too. We have promised her a cruise at some point but we better do it soon before more grandchildren come along! [emoji6]

After talking with her we went to the windjammer for breakfast. It was busy but the tables were cleared quickly once someone got up and we had no problem finding a spot to sit.

After breakfast we went to the Solarium to swim and relax. We were able to find 2 chairs right next to each other with no problem. (11 am) It’s definitely full though!

I know there has been some discussion about the decline in drink servers walking around. It has been quite the opposite on this cruise. There have been drink servers walking past every couple minutes.

We left the Solarium about 3 and went to have a small late lunch in the windjammer. It was packed. After eating we went to the ice show and then back to the room to get ready for dinner.

It was the second formal night and we had reservations for 6:30.

After dinner we went to trivia in the schooner bar and then to the theater for the Jackpot show.

After the show we went back to the Schooner bar for more piano music with Chester. We decided to try our luck in the casino for a little bit and ended up winning just under $500 in about 45 minutes! We decided to leave while we were ahead and ended up going to The Blue Moon for the silent dance party. It was a hoot!

Tomorrow is Curacao!

Today they were selling the 10 drink card

We were talking to one of the bar tenders the other day and he said the majority of people get the drink package. I asked him if he got a portion of the tip and he said the only way they get the tip is if they sell the package. He makes no money off of the drinks he makes for people with a package. I’m still trying to find out if they get to keep the extra tips people give. He just kept sticking them in a glass jar when we gave them to him.

Hey Chris,

Keep up the great work and have a great day at Curacao!

In general, are you enjoying the complimentary food (Windjammer/MDR) and entertainment onboard?

Thanks in advance from another Chris :)

We are pretty easy to please food wise so yes, we’ve enjoyed the food so far. Last night I had the turkey in the mdr and it was probably my least favorite meal so far. It was still good, just not great.

Our last cruise was on the Allure and we had so many more options for entertainment so this cruise hasn’t seemed as good. We are really enjoying the piano bar though!

How was Curacao?

For fans of the PZTV web cams. Adventure and Navigator are together in Aruba today. I love both of those Voyager class ships. Now bring Voyager back again. I'm planning on Mariner soon.

Sorry I’ve fallen behind in posting. We have been going and going from about 8am to 2am every day! I’m going to need another vacation to relax. Tomorrow is our last day and a sea day so hopefully I can get caught up with the review.

How was Curacao?

One comment on Curaçao....they have the new/extended pier open and that is where we docked. However, it is a little bit of a walk to get over to the regular pier for taxis and independent shore ex pickup, etc. They were running two extended golf carts as free transport but they were small and too long of a wait. Not sure but it looked like that while the pier itself is complete, maybe (hopefully) they are still working on the "land" area and might have ground transport there in the future.

Weather has been fabulous all week. Have seen two brief early morning showers...less than 5 minutes each. Sounds like we were lucky as I read on another site yesterday that it poured all day in Barbados yesterday.

Yesterday in Aruba temp was 84 with heat index of 97.

No problem, I'll watch for updates this weekend as you head toward home. :loudcry: Is Casey still the CD, I'm thinking he isn't since he just had a kid, but I don't know. I like him, but his Quest is a little lame. Enjoy your last Sea day.

I got told Elvis Pinto is on Adventure until December 16th, then heads for his vacation and goes to Rhapsody afterwards. My guess is that Casey may return Dec 16th and do a full contract. He may want to be on a ship that is closer to home though, so who knows.
