douggsx Posted January 2, 2018 #26 Share Posted January 2, 2018 The earliest check in time I saw available is 11:30am. Do you think this is because the earlier time slots are already full? I did want to try to get there early for the VIBE passes. Is it possible to not check in at all and just show up early? I'm sailing on the Escape on 1/6/18. Sent from my SM-N950U using Forums mobile app yes, the time slots is already full due to the sail date being less then a week away. you could try to show up early, as long as security and the check in person does not say anything
Rare eileeshb Posted January 2, 2018 #29 Share Posted January 2, 2018 If it was me alone (like it is going to be this summer to Bermuda), I would get on the boat first thing. My husband does not like the idea of maybe there being a crowd and pushing or anything noisy, so this month we will have a leisurely breakfast in Miami and get there about noon and hopefully it will be quiet. He is so weird. It was about noon when I got to the port in May for the Escape, it was busy enough that there was a queue out the door of the terminal. gambit57 Posted January 3, 2018 #30 Share Posted January 3, 2018 I just did mine. There's a pretty big noticeable warning saying that if you're early, you'll have to wait. I was wondering too because Disney STRICTLY enforces it (although if you hang around the entrance long enough, the guard usually takes pity and lets in one or two families each group who've been waiting a while). cathyrn Posted January 5, 2018 #31 Share Posted January 5, 2018 We are getting ready to take our 3rd NCL cruise. With the first 2 we could pick an arrival time. There was no option with our upcoming cruise to pick an arrival time.

There was no option with our upcoming cruise to pick an arrival time. Just curious what port/ship you're booked on? My cruise on Getaway at the end of February out of Miami initially didn't offer a check in time, but a few weeks later it did. I wasn't the only person to see that happen for that cruise. jtdlmc Posted January 15, 2018 #33 Share Posted January 15, 2018 I am sailing on Epic in February and the check in time option didn't appear until December. I kept checking as I had read the option doesn't appear until boarding documents were ready. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Red-Sol Posted January 15, 2018 #34 Share Posted January 15, 2018 We are doing 14 day Breakaway Cruise Feb 2nd. The check-in time option also was not there originally but did appear some time in December. Joe
RebelAthena Posted January 15, 2018 #35 Share Posted January 15, 2018 We’re in The Haven on a February sailing of the Getaway; our check-instructions indicates that we shouldn’t arrive before 11AM. I’m now wondering if we can arrive earlier? All we’re doing that morning is checking out of our hotel ...
nednrom Posted January 15, 2018 #36 Share Posted January 15, 2018 Last week we had the time of 9_30-10:00 for the Escape. Security does not open until 10:00 and check-in for everyone was after that. You shouldn't have a problem if you selected that time as your time. Boarding started at 11:00. I am not aware that any checkin times were enforced. I know that Group boarding was enforced, they made sure that people waited until their group numbers were called before boarding.

Security didn't open until 10:00 for the Escape so you will have to wait until Security opens, we had no line at checkin. Boarding didn't start till 11:00 but there will be no lines for Haven check in really, it is separate from from all.

StolidCruiser Posted January 18, 2018 #39 Share Posted January 18, 2018 I actually like staggered check in. I don't. I have paid for the first day and want to be on the boat as soon as possible. I don't want to have paid for 4 hours waiting to be able to board. Just like the thousands of your fellow passengers. Perhaps if every single one of them showed up at 9:30am with the same “I paid my money for the first day - let me on first!” you’d think differently. fice Posted January 18, 2018 #40 Share Posted January 18, 2018 I boarded the Epic at Port Canaveral on April, it was hot and sunny, and saw a crowd at pier, but they gave preference to passengers on the time frame like us.
gambit57 Posted January 18, 2018 #41 Share Posted January 18, 2018 The sooner I board, the sooner I can hit up a reservation desk, dining room, whatever. I don't care if I can't get into my cabin until 1 PM. I want on as early as they'll let me. Hanging around a hotel or airport isn't my idea of vacation even if I'm technically off.
