ebrasl Posted January 3, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 3, 2018 We are all signed up for the princesss star northbound on June 9. I had a question though about the two days on glaicier day and college fjord. Are these at sea days? Or does the boat port so you can get off? Thanks! 8VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA CHECK IN STARTS AT 1230P-- 04:30 PMSunday, June 10, 2018AT SEA -- -- Monday, June 11, 2018KETCHIKAN, ALASKA 06:30 AM02:00 PMTuesday, June 12, 2018JUNEAU, ALASKA 08:00 AM09:00 PMWednesday, June 13, 2018SKAGWAY, ALASKA 07:00 AM08:30 PMThursday, June 14, 2018GLACIER BAY NATIONAL PARK, ALASKA ( SCENIC CRUISING 06:00 AM03:00 PMFriday, June 15, 2018COLLEGE FJORD, ALASKA (SCENIC CRUIS SCENIC CRUISING 06:00 PM08:30 PMSaturday, June 16, 2018ANCHORAGE (WHITTIER), ALASKA
JT1962 Posted January 3, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 3, 2018 The ship will just be cruising Glacier Bay and College Fjord. You do not get off the ship, unless there are some small boat excursions I am unaware of. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
CruiserBruce Posted January 3, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 3, 2018 It is Star Princess, its a ship, and yes, those are really sea days.
Budget Queen Posted January 3, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 3, 2018 It's a huge advantage to invest time enjoying the glacier sailings. So consider it a moving "port". instead? :) :) :)
Rare Keith1010 Posted January 3, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 3, 2018 Yes they are sea days. There will still be some activities on those days like sea days but the major focus will be the viewing of the glaciers. Very special and I like Budget Queens description. katrina915 Posted January 3, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 3, 2018 It would be cool to get off on the glaciers but not happening. Cruiselines list it as a port sometimes though.

While you don't get off the boat on this excursion either - you may be interested in AdventureBound Alaska which will get you much closer and is scenic: https://www.adventureboundalaska.com/gallery/glaciers/ You have the time to do this in Juneau (only a few ships weekly have time to do this). There are helicopter tours that will also get you to land on a glacier in Juneau and Skagway.

JT1962 Posted January 3, 2018 #9 Share Posted January 3, 2018 Oh man, I thought I had my Juneau excursion figured out. This looks amazing! May have to reconsider my plans! Sent from my iPhone using Forums I definitely recommend this for those that have the port time in Juneau. Most ships aren't in port long enough to take advantage of it. It is a long day, but amazing scenery. Some ships also offer a similar excursion directly from the ship. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Sent from my iPhone using Forums I saw a couple of your beautiful pictures from your Adventure Bound trip, I was wondering if you have any pictures of the inside of the boat. I have seen pictures of the outside but I am trying to get an idea of what the inside seating is like.

I have seen pictures of the outside but I am trying to get an idea of what the inside seating is like. I do not have any pictures of the inside of the boat and did a quick Google search and did not find any either. From what I recall, they were bench seats with an aisle down the middle. They were fairly high, so you could see out the side windows while the boat was moving. I don't remember if they were plastic or cushioned, but we weren't uncomfortable. Many people slept on the trip back to Juneau after leaving Tracy Arm. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
