SeaDays Posted January 22, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2018 Holding a reservation for an Empress o/t Seas Cuba itinerary that includes two days in Havana. In view of November 2017 requirements, and after reading RCI’s FAQ’s multiple times, I still have an open question..... RCI states that, 1 - Tours would be required on both days, and, 2 - new regs require a a full day of approved activity. But there are several tours that last 3 to 4 hours. We like these, since all-day tours are not our style. And many tours seem to overlap similar sights. Any one know if the shorter tours will meet requirements. This is not addressed by RCI’s FAQ’s. Thanks!
Biker19 Posted January 22, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 22, 2018 This has been discussed in other threads - you just need to find any approved tour operator or simply affirm on the declaration page that you are taking part of one.
SeaDays Posted January 25, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted January 25, 2018 Aware of that. The issue is the regulation's reference to "full-day" activities. Not sure if RCI's 4-hour tours satisfy the requirement. Just looking for cruisers who may have done just these excursions.
mikegrip Posted January 25, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 25, 2018 We returned from sailing in December on Empress with an overnight and were told by Royal Caribbean in the FAQ meeting that they have on the ship that the half-day tours that were 4 hours did satisfy the requirement. They also did express that you must take a tour each day (not sure if you did not get off ship one day as we fully wanted to experience everything we could). Enjoy it was a wonderful enlightening experience.
