In addition to the perks listed on the MSC voyagers club benefits chart:

https://www.msccruisesusa.com/en-us/MSC-Voyagers-Club/Voyagers-Club.aspx

What other perks do the Voyager Black members get?

I read somewhere that Voyager Black members get tables next to a window in the dining room. can anyone verify this?

We didn't on the Divina.

HO all,

We sailed B2B on the Divina a year ago as new Black Card members. While on board, I took a fee-based fitness class through MSC. I was only charged 50% of the published price as a result of some sort of a benefit. I thought it was from being a Black Card holder but I see no reference to that benefit in the list. Can anybody shed some light on this for me, please?

Thanks in advance,

~Brian

Yes ... There are discounts available on-board for Voyagers Club members. They may vary slightly from ship to ship. Sometimes you receive a letter in your cabin listing them; other times not (that has been my experience, anyway). On our last cruise, I went to the Cruise Consultant (who deals with everything to do with Voyagers Club) to get a copy as we hadn't received one.

Here's a photo of the one we received on Meraviglia:

So, basically the Black Card ‘perks’ are virtually worthless, compared to other lines where you get free laundry and pressing, free casino chips, priority seating for shows, two hour’s free drinks every night, etc., etc.

We are on Armonia in September, and are wondering where we will use our free ‘Specialty Restaurant’ perk, bearing in mind there isn’t one.

Yes, there is - it's called Surf n' Turf and the menu is included in the following thread (post #89, second photo):

The photo is a little blurred;  there are photos of the food we ordered in the subsequent post.

At least you are getting something as a first time cruiser on MSC, other lines don’t do that!

Never ceases to amaze me that people come on cc and complain that MSC have given them something Free that others have had to cruise with them to obtain!

And no, you don't get a seat by the window in the dining room.

Each to their own, I don't consider them worthless, 1hr thermal spar, speciality meal, chocolate ship, bottle fizz, free photo, fruit basket, cocktail party,Priority tender & cruise end disembarkation etc etc.

This all has a good value in my eye.

Priority boarding is a great perk, too (you listed almost everything else, Ziggy  😊), plus the towelling robes and slippers supplied.

Your right I forgot that, priority boarding is a great perk.

Actually, priority anything is great, it makes you feel special when you get whisked ahead of everyone else.

It s crazy that us who have earned all the points on the hard Way Can sit together with first timers on MSC.  Just because They have earned points with other Cruise Companys. There should Be a difference......

I love the perks that can't be purchased  😜 (MyChoice dining for Aurea guests - and those in Fantastica suites on Lirica-class - is another one).

I will have been on three MSC cruises this year alone, and umpteen in the past.

... and you're only discovering, now, how "worthless" the perks are?

When I reached Black (I don't know when you did if, like you say, you've done "umpteen" cruises, so didn't status-match to attain it) we got 20% discount off the cruise price, a meal with the officers, a bottle of champagne rather than the cheaper Prosecco.  Due to status-match the benefits were reduced.  Didn't you see the discussions around this at the time (seeing as you've sailed MSC in the past)?  Were you not aware, as you continued to add to your points, that the benefits would be "worthless" to you?

At the end of this year I'll have 4 times the number of points required to reach Black;  I get nothing extra for that.  However, I still don't turn my nose up to the aforementioned perks that I do get.  If I weren't satisfied with them and felt they didn't match up with what other lines offer, I'd be looking elsewhere for my cruises.

We are lucky enough to have been on more than fifty cruises, and are ‘Elite’ or ‘Platinum’ status on several cruise lines.

I was comparing the top tier perks on MSC with other lines. I don’t think a bottle of cheap prosecco in the room is anything to rave about, when I can have ‘free’ Champagne at the bar, fruit can be picked up at the buffet, and a chocolate bar is no big deal.

I get 5% off my cruises, where does 20% discount come from?

Due to status-match the benefits were reduced.

If there are that many ‘status match’ Black card holders around, you know what the next step will be?

Introduction of a higher tier with even more perks, such as free cabin upgrades, reserved theatre seating and free internet, like most other lines have had to do.

One line’s top tier was ‘Diamond’, now it’s ‘Diamond Plus’

We've been hearing about a new, higher tier being introduced for the last few years, Bollinge.  No sign of it.  In fact, all MSC has done is reduce the benefits even further by only offering one person a complimentary meal for 2, when there are 2 occupants of a cabin at Black Card level, whereas, up until Nov 2017, each received a voucher for a meal for 2.

Another change they're making to the Voyagers Club is the NAME of the top tier:  BLACK being replaced with DIAMOND!  They're busy, alright, in the Voyagers' Club office, but the focus is definitely not on giving those of us who've built up points way above the number needed to attain Black/Diamond anything extra.  However, I'm not 'loyal' to MSC just to collect points (though it would be nice to receive a little recognition);  MSC offers us a great value product which, overall, we're happy with, to the extent that we're reluctant to go elsewhere.

Platinum on NCL, Carnival and Princess and Black Card Status on MSC here and I am not seeing where MSC's Black card status is so inferior.  No you do not get the ONE bag of free laundry like you do on Carnival and NCL but the laundry packages they offer are very inexpensive and we do purchase them.  On Carnival they did wash and fold the clothes as a perk but boy were they wrinkled!  On MSC, with our purchased laundry package (I believe it cost us $50 for 40 pieces) came back like it had been sent out to the dry cleaners, it was awesome!

I actually like MSC's loyalty perks and would never complain about them. Just happy to get them!

it was the benefit for black card before the status match program

black got 20%

gold got 10%

silver got 8 % and classic got 5%
