TheMeowMeoow Posted January 25, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 25, 2018 You can choose between OBC or parties. We have a group of 10 going and we are all getting $100 OBC per stateroom on the ship.
Havingfun2010 Posted January 25, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 25, 2018 If we have a group and need 15 or more cabins are there any perks You probably should be asking Carnival this question and not the message board. They are the ones that can give you a quote.
steelersfan4ever Posted January 25, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 25, 2018 From what I have been told - if you book 7 rooms, the 8th is free.
asalligo Posted January 25, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 25, 2018 You probably should be asking Carnival this question and not the message board. They are the ones that can give you a quote. Most of us are here because we like to discuss all that is Carnival. I appreciate any discussion on any cruise topic and never feel that they should have just looked this up themselves and not posted. Carnival is also woefully erratic in all responses. Calling and speaking to one person does not mean getting the full story.

Any question is welcome in my opinion and it has helped me. There are a lot of very knowledgeable individuals on these boards that can help provide answers. TargetsMom Posted January 26, 2018 #8 Share Posted January 26, 2018 From what I have been told - if you book 7 rooms, the 8th is free. You can (with some cruise lines) get one BERTH free when you book 16 people into 8 cabins. That means one of the 16 people is free, not one of the cabins. kathy

1stcruisenewbie Posted January 27, 2018 #11 Share Posted January 27, 2018 I made the mistake of contacting carnival directly and we have 14 cabins booked so far for a cruise in March 2018 for my husbands 50th and we got NOTHING and all of us but 3 rooms are booked into balcony rooms!!!! I would check with the cruise line and also check with a travel agent as I have since been advised by fellow cruise critic travellers that travel agents sometimes can get you more perks. Fingers crossed for ya!!!
Rare Keith1010 Posted January 27, 2018 #12 Share Posted January 27, 2018 I would get a TA to help as well as they may offer additional perks. Keith

Fingers crossed for ya!!! Did you book as a group or did individual bookings and linked your cabins together? If you booked as a group, payments can be made online or you have to contact the group department to make a payment. Also, casino rates do not count towards group bookings. Not all sailings have group amenity points. If you go to your cruise confirmation and see a booking number on the left and a group booking number under the email address on the right then you were booked as a group, if no group booking number you were booked as individual cabins with booking number linked. You may call Carnival and enter 70480 and try to get the cabins changed to a group booking. This is a long shot but worth trying.
Diggerof4 Posted June 5, 2018 #14 Share Posted June 5, 2018 I just got off the phone with Carnival and asked for a group discount for 16-18 people for 8 to 9 cabin. well, they said they do not do discounts and they can do an Early Saver and each room would get about 4 points each for champagne or choc covered strawberries. First customer service advsd that I would get a discount and then when I talked to booking agent for groups, she said no. Every time I call, CS would tell me, I guess, what we would like to hear and then when you talk to the correct person it is not true. Any suggestions ? Contact the groups dept at 1800carnival ext. 70480 and tell the person who answers you are interested in booking a group. You will have a time frame when the 8 cabins need to be booked by. Sometimes it is cheaper not to use the group rate but to use early saver(restrictiond) and past guest attempts rates. Casino rates do not count towards group bookings. The downside is you will get a different person each time you call. I handle all the payments for my group and mdr seating. I prefer to do it this way than with a TAto have control over my group. You will earn your conductor credits which can be used for your cabin, spread amongst all of the cabins, or however you choose. I hope this help you. Diggerof4 Posted June 6, 2018 #17 Share Posted June 6, 2018 I CAN'T thank you all enough for all the advice. I am new to cruising and trying to get what this and that means with the terminology is a challenge. Reg: get a new CS rep: Exactly, I know from working in customer service some reps ore more knowledgeable than others. I fell like given them a survey before continuing the call ..LOL. Some of our group have been cruise quite a while and some have just started. In that case, the group rate should equal or better what they would get on their own. Is there a board or website that has the meaning of titles, example - What is a Casino Promotion or rate, What is the Ultra Cruise, what are conductor points,etc.... Again, I want to thank you for answering my questions, You are very kind.
simplelife Posted June 6, 2018 #18 Share Posted June 6, 2018 I would definitely use a TA with group that large. I am fortunate to have a really good one, a classmate of mine, that specializes in cruises.
rtfnl Posted June 6, 2018 #19 Share Posted June 6, 2018 Tour conductor credits is what the group leader. The credit used to be 1 free berth for every 16th. You then would pay the port fees and taxes. Now it is an avg of the different types of room for every 16th person. Not everyone receives the casino rate, ultra and premier rates. Before you book with a TA call and speak with someone in the group dept and then determine if you are up to the task. 8t is work because you will handle all of the problems but like I said before I like to have complete control over my booking. Let us know what you decide. I had 78 in my group last December and this year about 30 due to it being a longer cruise.
Midwestgal Posted June 6, 2018 #20 Share Posted June 6, 2018 I’d use a cruise specialist TA, that many cabins you will get some great perks.
scubamommy! Posted June 7, 2018 #21 Share Posted June 7, 2018 We have 14 cabins booked and I used a travel agent who arranged EVERYTHING for me, took everyone's cc# info and preferences on cabins and booked it all, told me about tour conductor credits ( a percentage of everyone types of cabins books taken off MY fare) and let me pick several "gifts" to bestow on every cabin. I picked a cabin credit and a bottle of wine for each cabin, plus my TA is sending every cabin a gift as well. Amazing deal! I highly suggest using a TA!
