Rare HangryGrl Posted October 1, 2018 Author #26 Share Posted October 1, 2018 How is the water here? I suppose it depends on what you are looking for? We were there in January and while it was warm/hot on the beach the water was too cold for me but my husband snorkeled for a bit. Kind of a reversal for us since I am usually braver with cold water being a swimmer. This was our second time in Labadee, we were at Adrenaline Beach this time and Columbus Cove the time before. Both places the water was cloudy due to the sand being churned up by people so snorkeling was not great. There were some fish at both locations and jelly fish at Columbus Cove. Let me know if you are looking for something more specific?

Kanebaby Posted October 16, 2018 #28 Share Posted October 16, 2018 Thanks for the review. How many people did you have? We have three going. Would lounge chairs be provided for all three people? I noticed it said it includes 2 floating mats. I don't care about that but we would want the loungechairs to sit in the sun if any of us wanted. TIA
Becca2581 Posted October 16, 2018 #29 Share Posted October 16, 2018 They have 2 automatically but the attendants will pull more over for you. The water is a little shallow here and that was my husbands only complaint. Also parts of the beach bed get really hot later in the day
Jennlo13 Posted November 19, 2018 #30 Share Posted November 19, 2018 Can people without wristbands be there on the beach where the beds are. The reason I am asking is because there is a we have a group of 8 people (one 4 year old and one 8 year old). Three of them will be gone most of the time to do excursions and such. But from time to time they will come back to join us for a bit. Don't want to get another bed if it's not going to be used most of the time. I wanted a bungalow but it looks like there's none available when I try to book it.

I am guessing that they probably wouldn't hassle you about the kids being on and off the beach bed but if you have 6 adults they might? You will only get wristbands for 4 people so the 2 adults without bands may be asked not to use the bed. It could also depend on the attendants that day. I did see them kick one woman out who just came over and made herself comfortable on one of the empty beds. How far out is your cruise? The bungalows may open up closer to sailing? luckyprincess Posted December 17, 2018 #32 Share Posted December 17, 2018 I wasn't able to get a bungalow like in CocoCay so we opted for this because it seems so nice. Did you get to pick your bed on the cruise or was it just first come first served?
Rare HangryGrl Posted December 17, 2018 Author #33 Share Posted December 17, 2018 (edited) It was first come, first serve but there were plenty of open beds when we arrived. Only 3 or 4 of the roughly 16 beds were in use that day. Edited December 17, 2018 by HangryGrl
kag19 Posted February 18, 2019 #34 Share Posted February 18, 2019 Thank you for your review! We were going back and forth about booking the beds mostly because we didn't know what to expect but we are going to book it now. Appreciate all of your help! Rare vacationlover_mn Posted March 3, 2019 #35 Share Posted March 3, 2019 Thanks for the review! DH loves shade, I love sun... think the attendant would bring over a lounger for me that I could put in the sun?

The bed actually comes with 2 loungers set up at the end of the bed in the sand. 😊
Rare vacationlover_mn Posted May 6, 2019 #37 Share Posted May 6, 2019 How close to the water are they? Do you have an unobstructed view of the water?

There are 2 rows of beds. The first row is pretty close to the water and has unobstructed views. The second row is just behind the first (maybe 12ft?) and would only be obstructed by the first row of beds. The day we were there only a few of the beds were in use and the attendant let us choose which bed we wanted.
CruiszBug Posted October 11, 2019 #39 Share Posted October 11, 2019 I see the curtains are in different positions on the beds. Is this something you can adjust? Or do you need to get your attendant involved to make sure the curtains are draped the way you prefer for shade and/or privacy?
Rare HangryGrl Posted October 11, 2019 Author #40 Share Posted October 11, 2019 There are only curtains on 2 sides of the bed but they are easily adjustable. No need to find the attendant. They are a canvas type material so they stay put pretty well but there was a good breeze part of the day we were there so we had to adjust them a couple times when they were blown around. simon.hed Posted October 31, 2022 #42 Share Posted October 31, 2022 I guess I will resurrect this one. I didn't find a lot of info on these. We will be in Labadee upcoming summer for first time and just noticed these in cruise planner. They have gone up just a bit lol. 368.99 at 10% off. EKYL Posted November 11, 2023 #43 Share Posted November 11, 2023 Hello, I see on the booking site that there's a minimum age limit of 4yo. Do they enforce it? I have a 3 yo and would love to use the beach bed for the whole fam. Thanks!
kcrovert Posted May 25 #44 Share Posted May 25 We're cruising the end of '24, assuming things are back to normal on Labadee, and will have me & my wife & our three adult children. I know the write-up for the beach beds says max of 4, but has anyone used a bed & chairs with 5 adults? Of course, the bed itself would most like never have more thank 2 or 3 on it. Just wondered about other cruiser's experiences. Thanks!!
