RossE Posted September 12, 2018 #501 Share Posted September 12, 2018 (edited) Oh well, it's just paint. I'm sure it will be fine inside No updates yet on the deck plans. Edited September 12, 2018 by RossE
JCDCA Posted September 13, 2018 #502 Share Posted September 13, 2018 The Encore's hull art is bright and colorful and while it doesn't depict a sea creature or creature of any kind from the looks of it, it does far more for the ship compared to the Breakaway's hull art. The Norwegian Breakaway's hull art has been hideous since the first time I saw it. It seems like a bunch of items (heads, planets) thrown onto a ship hull. It doesn't flow or make sense and definitely seems tacky. While I wouldn't rate the Encore's hull art as one of the best in the fleet, it's definitely NOT the worst. That still goes to that unsightly Peter Max creation. I'm not sure about a "bunch of items" just randomly conjured together. Several of the "items" or images are distinctively New York - which the ship was originally built for.
RossE Posted September 13, 2018 #503 Share Posted September 13, 2018 I'll be sailing on it next year, and unfortunately it looks like it rammed a piñata.
JaysMom2 Posted September 13, 2018 #504 Share Posted September 13, 2018 I keep looking at it, and I'm really trying to like it, but it's just...not...happening.
Sotermarler Posted September 13, 2018 #505 Share Posted September 13, 2018 This ship is embarrassing. I wasn’t wowed by the Escape, but now I’m rethinking my opinion of it. 100xs better than this mess. Sent from my iPad using Forums
RossE Posted September 13, 2018 #506 Share Posted September 13, 2018 In the YouTube video The Other Side is a little different. Not better, just different Sent from my XT1254 using Forums mobile app
tallnthensome Posted September 13, 2018 #507 Share Posted September 13, 2018 On another note, the Encore will be a hit with LGBT community. If ships were in a parade, this would be the one.
TheDougOut Posted September 13, 2018 Author #508 Share Posted September 13, 2018 Here are the two sides: I had a panic attack last night when I zoomed in on the DBH interior... as it had white chairs and bistro tables. But I calmed down after realizing it was the same generic interior as FR. The angle shot shows FR’s old interior.
Alegeeter Posted September 13, 2018 #509 Share Posted September 13, 2018 I know art is subjective but I just don't get this. It's like they asked this artist to design the hull art and his response was "Sure. Hire a child to do it and slap my name on it. I don't have time for this," like when an employer or professor asks you to write your own reference letter.
Cafedumonde Posted September 13, 2018 #510 Share Posted September 13, 2018 As I posted in other thread, if I were judging NCL's future on this ship's "art," I would have no confidence in management. Just tacky.

CruisinMaterial Posted September 13, 2018 #514 Share Posted September 13, 2018 I’m not so sure, we need a close up of this section. It almost looks like a lobster lol Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk There ya go! An abstract looking lobster thing-a-ma-bob... perhaps sea creatures are involved after all! Thanks for the zoom! :)
CruisinMaterial Posted September 13, 2018 #515 Share Posted September 13, 2018 I'm not sure about a "bunch of items" just randomly conjured together. Several of the "items" or images are distinctively New York - which the ship was originally built for. Yes but the items do not flow and are stuck on the ship in different places. The floating Lady Liberty head comes to mind. I'm still not a fan of the hull art on Breakaway and I sailed her into NYC on her inaugural Trans-Atlantic. The Encore hull art is actually quite clever the more I look at it. Now I see a lady's face by the bow!

I can see it that too now that you mention it... or at least the top portion of it with the hat from the front view. This is definitely an intriguing hull art! :D
FreestyleNovice Posted September 13, 2018 #519 Share Posted September 13, 2018 No private room at Taste as there isn't a double row of windows, NCL never went back to that feature right?

That's what I was seeing as well. Just not sure about the "dancing" figure or are they water skiing? with streamers of colour trailing behind them? IDK... I know I'm not the brightest star in the sky but this hull art has my imagination going every which way... :'):')
