#3 Having to pack my suitcases the day before disembarkation .... it's depressing because that means it's almost over!

#2 Having to wait too many months between cruises so I can stay within my cruise budget!

#1 Being required to get off the ship on the last day!! I'm NEVER ready to get off a ship no matter how many days I have been on it.

1. Coffee. No one has said this? I've been on 5 different cruise lines, and all their coffee stink.

2. upcharging. If you need some pain pills, 10 bucks. Toothpaste, 10 bucks. etc..

3. aggressive sales pitches. Everything is about the sale onboard

The incredible amount of paper wasted for jewelry/Cariloha/specialty dining flyers. We always recycle that junk but wish we could opt out of all advertising flyers.

People who talk during the films, shows, lectures, etc. Ditto the folks who have a distracting phone or tablet open.

The wasteful practice of throwing away small pieces of soap. I now leave a polite note for the steward to NOT throw them away and that I will merge them with a new bar.

The removal of towels despite hanging it up in the "I will use again" manner.

The tucking in off the sheets/duvet at the foot of the bed. I leave a note for that, too.

Hmmm....

1. Strong smells, be it cologne, perfume, smoke, B.O, or flatulence in a contained area. (There are OTC meds for that folks - you know who you are).

2. People who gripe about everything and can't for a moment get past their "it's all about me", to see that maybe life didn't go perfect for someone else, changes might need to be made, there may have been no warning to prevent someone or the cruise line having to alter a plan, (like gee, having to walk to the other side of the room, - people with physical disabilities exempt from any complaining), no one is perfect and neither is any cruise line. Sure, mention it if you need to then get past it. Life is too short to be miserable, especially on a cruise ship. (I do realize there are rare exceptions) Please try to relax and enjoy the beauty around you, the chance to do what many people never get to do, and give people the chance to see you at your best as we all know you can be.

3. People that don't wash their hands in the restroom and then you see them moments later touching *anything*.

1) Habitual complainers

2) Habitual scowlers

3) See #1 & #2

I wonder what the top three would be if the responses were to be tabulated. I didn't count but think chair hogs would be up there. Probably varies by cruise locale.

1. Getting only a short time in each port.

2. Having to share that port time with 3,000 or so of my closest friends/traveling companions.

3. Travel on a large cruise ship is mass-produced industrial vacation time. Sometimes I prefer to travel at my own pace, navigating my own route.

That may sound pretty negative, but there are aspects which I like, too. But that's not what this thread is about...

1.Muster drill

2.People who pile their plates with food in the Lido and leave most of it.What's wrong with taking a smaller portion and going back for more if they are still hungry?

People who don't wash their hands after using the toilet and people who avoid the hand sanitiser, especially when entering dining areas.

1. Having to leave the ship and go home. :~(

2. Rude cruisers who verbally mistreat staff and fellow cruisers

3. Stress of getting ready for cruise and packing while still working full time

....and sneaking in a #4.....CHAIR HOGS!! (I give them 1.5 hours). If they haven’t returned by then, I just gently lift up their stuff and place it on a towel behind the chaise. Never once have I gotten any grief. They Know the rules. Typically they’re a bit sheepish and most apologize. But haven’t run into any who are drunk or close to it and spout off at me.

1. The inevitable security hassle at airport I get usually cause by the wife leaving something there.

2. Rude Cruisers / Lounger hogs / Queue jumpers. All can be branded as "Rude", My wife and I have a daily "Walk the plank" list of folk who should be overboard for the sake of other guests and staff.

3. Electric Wheelchair users who think they can use there "aid" as a battering ram.

Any "change of mode" of transportation en route to or from the ship. Hate it hate it hate it.

Muster drill on deck. Muster drills in interior lounges, etc. are more tolerable but that's a factor of ship design.

No trays in the buffet.

Formal wear that doesn't fit as well as xx years ago.

You can avoid on-deck musters, incessant announcements, liquor hassles, queues, and smoky casinos by choosing your line/ship carefully.

Glad folks mentioned bad coffee, no washing of hands in the restroom and people that listen to music without headphones.

Can't believe I forgot those in my list.

The last one is particularly annoying. Happens on the adult-only Carvinal Serentity space of all places. I guess the name Serenity doesn't mean what I think it is supposed to mean. Not only is there ALREADY music playing over the loud speaker, but people have to blare their music own thinking it won't travel beyond their chairs.

I only have one hate. It is other people's behavior and that encompasses chair hogs, rude smokers, folks that use their hands picking up food in the buffet, not washing hands when leaving the restroom, screaming and yelling while talking, being rude to staff, cutting in lines, complaining, talking during performances, just to name a few things.

& my only addition to this post is the table hogs in the Lido....don't sit there reading your book/e-reader when others would like to sit down & have a meal.

75 year old grandmothers who go out to the pool deck at 7am and put towels held by clips on 5+ lounge chairs by the pool and 5 in the shade under the awning. Usually none of the extended family members show up before 10 or 11 at the earliest. Then they go to lunch, get a massage, do a little shopping and other sundry activities before returning to "THEIR" personal accommodations.

Last week on the Reflection I was near 4 prime loungers marked with either an apple or a banana. For 3 hours no one ever came to claim. Pool butlers walked numerous times with nary a glance at the forgotten fruit laden lounge chairs.
