gozagswoohoo Posted February 1, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 1, 2018 Granted, I haven't been on a Carnival cruise in 3 years, but I thought soda was free?? Seems like I remember getting my pizza and fries at the buffet area near the pool, and filling up my soda cup whenever I wanted. Am I remembering incorrectly...? gozagswoohoo Posted February 1, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted February 1, 2018 Are there any free drinks available then? I don't recall paying for drinks, but maybe I was just getting water...??
jayowl Posted February 1, 2018 #5 Share Posted February 1, 2018 Are there any free drinks available then? I don't recall paying for drinks, but maybe I was just getting water...?? Soda not free. Water, iced tea and some sort of punch (watered down of course) free near the coffee bars in the buffet. And breakfast apple and orange juice from the same fountain set up. irishdadx4 Posted February 1, 2018 #8 Share Posted February 1, 2018 Lemonaide, coffee, and tea is free. And some fruit juice is free at breakfast, too.
BallFour4 Posted February 1, 2018 #9 Share Posted February 1, 2018 Granted, I haven't been on a Carnival cruise in 3 years, but I thought soda was free? Since the first one for my family on the Mardi Gras in 76 we have paid for soda. The soda package starts to look good if someone drinks three or more per day. . Rare 1025cruise Posted February 1, 2018 #15 Share Posted February 1, 2018 On my first cruise in 1995 on the then Nordic Empress, soda was included in the MDR only.

Chervil Posted February 4, 2018 #19 Share Posted February 4, 2018 Definitely not free, as everyone else has said. I only drink a few sodas or juice a day, but what makes the Bottomless Bubbles worth it is getting a root beer and then hitting the self serve ice cream to make your own root beer floats! dxvdxviii Posted February 4, 2018 #21 Share Posted February 4, 2018 Granted, I haven't been on a Carnival cruise in 3 years, but I thought soda was free?? Seems like I remember getting my pizza and fries at the buffet area near the pool, and filling up my soda cup whenever I wanted. Am I remembering incorrectly...? As an alternative, you are permitted to bring 12 12-oz cans of soda per person onboard at no cost. So if you're looking for a soda fix without the pricetag, this might work for you. Details are outlined in your cruise agreement. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
lasekeye Posted February 4, 2018 #22 Share Posted February 4, 2018 I packed a few cans of root beer in my carry on, I sure enjoyed those “floats” with the soft serve ice cream!

No. I've been sailing Carnival since Dec 2000 and soda has never been free at least since that time.
Computer Nerd Posted February 4, 2018 #24 Share Posted February 4, 2018 Disney is the only mass-market line I know of that has free soda available. That must be why they charge more than double what a Carnival cruise costs. ;)
vamartha Posted February 4, 2018 #25 Share Posted February 4, 2018 What you can do is take one 12 pack of soda per person onboard with you. It must be carried on and not packed in your checked luggage. I use a rolling suitcase for mine.
